How do you feel about the green powders. The reason why I ask is because I am always out and about with the baby. There are no raw restaurants around here and only one juice bar and it costs an arm and a leg. If I keep some green powder with me, I could have a green drink where ever I go. It would be alot more convenient to have it handy than to get temped with something SAD.

I think its definitely better than being tempted into SAD food! Get one that is live (like alissa's)
:)

I always keep a few Lara bars in my purse just for this type of occasion. I use the green powder (Vitamineral Green) but I would not like it just mixed in water by itself and would be more satisfied by a Lara Bar.

There are other things that you can keep in your purse such as a small bag of gogi berries or dates or nuts. The important thing is to always have something available so that you will not be tempted when hungry and it helps a lot if it is something that you like.

All good suggestions...I did bars in beginning to resist being sad.

Green powders not work for me ever...all feel dead to me. Maybe have not found the right one for me.

I have some great bars and keep dried fruit on me. The hunger I can handle. I just get tempted by sweet beverages! Summer is rolling around. Maybe I can keep a container of lemon water on me. Lemon water can be fixed ahead of time and can't go bad. I will have to check out more bars to get my greens and nutrients.

you can make your own bars with green powder in them. Pulse dried fruit and nuts/seeds in the food processor with some green powder, and shape into bars. Wrap in waxed paper and keep with you.

Wow, I never thought of that. COOL!

I have no problem drinking it straight in a bottle of water. I even do that at home if I need a fast meal replacement. Vitamineral Green or Alissa's Green Powder are identical. A heaping tablespoon provides 4.4 grams of protein, less than 1 gram of fat, 33% RDA Calcium, 150% RDA Iron, 83% RDA B12, and all for only 45 calories (yeah, I know - we aren't counting). :)
