So I had kind of a bad night last night- had some Singapore rice noodles. Not beating myself up about it; it happens (and okay, it was kind of delicious). But I was wondering what you all do after a "slip"... do you fast the next day and wait for the cooked to pass before putting more food in? Or do you go for green smoothies right away? Are there any foods that you find help with digestion and reducing bloating?

What's your detox method?

Just eat raw. It's no big thing. Eat raw.

Keep on going down your path! Eat the raw food you enjoy, breath and smile.

I agree with Revell, it's no big deal, just keep living your raw life. :)

If it helps....I slipped last night to -went out with frinds and have a few nachos!!!
Well, I got up this morning and cut up a crisp apple and enjoyed it - back to raw today.

It happens, we just keep going! ;) Don't beat yourself up over it sweetie, life is to short, enjoy what you like.

Just get back up 'n that horse like it never even happened! :)

I remember one time, I had had a few drinks and my it was like 3 am and my friends were making food and I had white bread (shudder), not even brown, but the fact that I was off bread anyway even on cooked vegan, ugh it was just a stupid mistake, but i didn't let it get me down I just started from where I had left off the next day. :):):)
You'll be fiiine!!

I like a huge green leafy salad...something light, like romaine, mixed with some kale leaves. It pushes the bad stuff right out. Actually, if, when you eat the bad stuff, you eat a salad with it or right after it, this seems to temper the reaction. I learned this when I was pregnant & gave into cravings some times.

I agree with everyone else. Making a big deal of it will just make you more likely to slip again due to the negative feelings. Have your favourite raw food and forget that anything ever happened.

The very first thing I do as soon as I am in control again is to stop and review what happened and learn as much from the experience as possible so that it doesn't happen again. I find that it helps me to write down my thoughts and conclusions and keep the notes for at least two or more days because I have found that after a "slip" the old craving will come back very quickly and they will come back stronger so its a good idea to get your guard up or risk falling off the SAD cliff.

If you're having some digestive issues . . .celery juice or a celery smoothie will really help (at least, that's what works for me).

The freedom for me comes with just accepting myself where I am. Right Now. Yesterday is gone, the past hour is gone, the past second is already gone. Every moment offers a new chance to be Raw again, no matter what happened before or no matter how awful I think I was with my food choices. I think it's great advice also to journal, but I've transcended to just letting go and it feels much simpler to me. Compliments this lifestyle very well I believe....keeping it simple that is and taking it one moment at a time. :)

Oh & another quick comment, do you know how amazing it is that you're even aware of the benefits of the raw food lifestyle in the midst of our current global collective nutritional ignorance (just my opinion...hehe). And global epidemic health issue woes? You are a superstar already, just in that fact alone. A revolutionary pioneer I tell ya. Rejoice in every moment. Every moment offers a chance to adore your amazing body and your life. :D

Practically speaking: give fresh cut ginger root a whirl. I often add it to Rawstrength's celery juice recommendation. I find the two work really well for me when I need to reboot my digestive system.

I would take a large amount of digestive enzymes with the cooked so it doesn't have as much of an impact. Afterwards, tons of water. Possibly a cleanse supplement to flush it out more. Then liquid meals-smoothies, soups, juices. Probiotics too. But I've been raw for so long, it would be necessary to do these things. The most important I would say is a high quality strong enzyme formula. I would hope I would be quite picky about what cooked I ate.

pick up and keeping going? I had some chicken tenderloins last night with my salad - and I felt AWFUL today. Bloated and nasty feeling and really crabby. I got back to my veggies today and I feel a ton better - going to start making smoothies again tomorrow.
