Here's something to give you new people more hope about being raw!
After learning about the raw diet two years ago, buying all the stuff and the books (Alissa's first!) and then finding it REAL hard to stay faithful, I've suffered some health problems for the past year. I suffer from migrating joint pain and weakness in my hands, bad hot flashes, depression and overall achyness. I'm 48 - way too young for this *&^%! Except maybe the hot flashes. :o But I want to get rid of them, anyway! :p Tuesday I got tested for Lymes disease and RA. Now I'm pretty sure all I need is raw!
I've been 100% raw since Monday (6 days). Before that, I ate terribly and drank too much.
I *hopped* out of bed this morning like a 48 year old, instead of an 80 year old! Yay! The pain in my knuckles is down by about 70% but the ring on my right hand is still far from being able to come off. Hopefully a few more days will eliminate that inflamation completely.
I've lost 17 lbs. since Monday, just from not drinking and staying on the raw diet! I had to re-weigh myself just now to believe it. I feel so much younger and lighter . . . in only six days! Now I have just 21 lbs. to reach my goal weight, which I should be able to do easily in seven weeks. I've taken two weeks off my weight loss plan, just from being raw! Will you guys kick me in the a** if I ever go off this diet? Please? :-)
Yesterday I ate two grapefruit for breakfast, then had a huge green salad with olive oil for lunch. At around 5 pm I ate a bowl full of green olives marinated in garlic and had a big bunch of grapes for dinner. I wasn't hungry and almost went to bed with nothing, but felt I should *fuel* my body. The cravings to stuff my face constantly are gone! Yay!
So, for anyone considering this diet - GO FOR IT!!! Your body will thank you!
