Lemon water. i have seen someone here say it, and i saw online. drink lemon water first thing upon getting up in the morning. i bought limes, oranges and lemons to do that. but. why? what does it do? im thinking do that then go to work and drink my smoothie at work. i have a good thermos to take it in.
so, anyone can help me with all this?

wow, that all looks so yum!! good job at the farmer's market!!
As for kale in your green smoothies - go by what tastes good to you... you'll probably find that, in the beginning, you'll like more banana:less greens, but that ratio will shift a bit, eventually... Since kale is a particularly sturdy green, I might start with 2-3 leaves, and go from there (depending on the size of smoothie, of course)... Personally, NOTHING makes me happier than greens... (well, almost!) I'd say - if you feel like having a green smoothie at night, then have a green smoothie at night! I love the raw lifestyle because, for me, it's about freedom and following my intuition, not restrictions. If it sounds good, go for it!
As for the lemon water - I recall the reasoning behind this being that citrus alkalizes your system (even though it's acidic going in, it creates an alkalizing effect), which is important for all kinds of reasons that I can't remember right now... Personally, I do it because it just plain feels good... it almost feels like my body absorbs water first thing in the morning better when there's a little something in it (like lemon or ACV) - if not, it just flushes it out.
I"m so happy for you going raw! You'll find tons of information and support here. Best to you, and enjoy it!

the lemon water will break down the mucus in your system :)
and as for the kale... i would start with one leaf and work it UP from there. you can't remove kale from a green smoothie but you can always add more. kale is very thick compared to other greens. i always recommend to start off using baby organic spinach... get used to the green smoothies and then in a few weeks try some other greens. kale is something i love... but my hubby can't stomach in a smoothie... so if you don't like it, don't give up... just try a different green.
also... with kale... add extra water to your smoothie or it'll REALLY thicken up on you (like pudding)

the riper the bananas, the sweeter the smoothies. I like my bananas with freckles. once you start doing green smoothies, that produce won't last long, lol
Well spent I say. I make smoothies any time of the day or night. I put whatever I want in them. Started with a lot of green and then backed off to all fruit. Now, almost four weeks into RAW, I am adding green back into them. In fact, tonight, I got real adventurous and added hot peppers to one of them. OH, Yum!!

You can also add berries to all that if you want.

Not knowing what you have otherwise to work with I'd be looking at smoozies for sure plus, fruit cobblers and kale chips if you've got a "D".

Well, I'll take the mangoes off your hands for a start!;)
Em, well I'll say mix it up in a smoothie or better yet eat it form it's natural state, anyway I haven't got too much experience with this but it looks from the other answer's, they have. Well done on getting such a bargain, I wish my farmer's market was so kind...
happy eating:)
