it's possible if you're not getting enough fruit, fruit is the best natural source of water for us. I find i am thirsty after citrus fruit tho. Drink water just not right after meals or small amounts until you're done digesting.

When your body is getting rid of the rubbish - it calls for some water to help flush things through.

Honestly I posted this same thing about 2 months ago when I first went raw. I would wake up in the middle of the night so thirsty. I would eat fruit, green smoothies and water but was still thirsty. Now 3 months into raw it has went away. Keep going, It will go away. I am proof.

Yes it could be so as you are healing. If you happen to be eating flax or dehydrated products, it could also make you thirstier as well. As has already been mentioned drink plenty of water, eat fruit and listen to your body. Increase your cucumber and oranges intake, especially the oranges. Oranges and orange juice are what your body is really craving. I just see this really clearly. Add radishes to your smoothies. They will be spicey, but it has something to do with your blood healing.

Please let us know how you're doing. :)

Take care.

Don't worry, I was fiercely thirsty when I first started. Like, I would wake up in the night with a burning thirst in the back of my throat that I could never quench, and I felt it all day too. I drank soooooooo much water, though I know a lot of experienced raw people claim you don't need to drink on raw.

I believe it's a sign of impending/continuing weight loss, as your body is flushing bad toxins and fat away in the fluid you're losing (I peed a lot as well), and so is always looking to replenish them. Losing water weight, if you will.

I'd take it as a good sign, and drink as much as you feel you need to. Try having some coconut water or water with lemon juice.

I know, it's surprising, right? You'd think, having raw food - which is so much higher in water content - you'd want LESS water... well, my theory is: so many of us are chronically dehydrated, and we lose our thirst sensation (get desensitized to it) - whenever I up my water significantly, I actually get THIRSTIER for a short time... because my body thinks, oh, there's water around now, let's ask for more of it...
After being raw for awhile, this subsided for me, and now I just go through spurts of needing more water.

If you want water, drink! :) Your body will only do good things with it. If you're just flushing it out, though, and feel like you're not retaining what you should, put a small pinch of sea salt or ACV in it.

I drank a TON more water when I first went raw and I still drink a lot of water. It flushes all the toxins out of your body that the raw foods have loosened up. Spring water from a local spring that you harvest yourself is the best water.

I had been super thirsty for almost a year during my third year of the raw transition. I was about 95% raw and could not figure out what was wrong. I had several tests done (blood, urine, stool, saliva) and all the tests came back great. I was drinking about 100oz of water daily and could not satisfy the thirst and was waking up with wicked dry throat and mouth in the morning. I tried everything to correct the issue... adding more natural salt to my diet, drinking coconut water, cutting back on nuts (I heard eating lots of nuts will make you thirsty) and spicy foods, drinking water from different sources, and eating different kinds of wet fruits. Nothing worked. Finally, I decided to do a cleanse because I was also losing energy during the day which had not been a problem in the early days of eating raw. I just recently finished a 40 day Master Cleanse and I am no longer thirsty. Not sure what happened but I am very relieved to be normal again. There must have been some crazy toxins in the sytem that I was unable to purge. My energy is super high again as well.
