I just broke a seven and a half day water-only fast. I broke it by eating dried prunes, as prunes seem to be a popular fast-breaking choice. What other fruits and vegetables are best to eat directly after a water fast of this length?

I'm worried about eating something that will ruin the progress I made during the fast and/or make me sick.

Thanks!

BRAVO on finishing the week!
I always was told that watered down juices were a great segue back to eating. Soaking the prunes makes them a bit easier on the system as it gets back to digesting.

congrats on a 7 day water !!!

ive read / heard the opinions on you have to eat proper things upon breaking a fast but dont believe in them , as long as im eating raw i immeadiately devour everything after a fast . but heres a link to my favorite fasting expert whom im sure has an opinion on the matter =

I had 5 prunes (not soaked, sadly), then an hour or so later I had a banana and 8 oz. of Sambazon Acai Juice. This seems to have caused two cases of loose stools so far. Not painful, but very liquid (almost no solid bits). Is this normal after a water fast of that length based on what I ate?

my body could never handle soaked prunes after water fasting. i need a much slower, more gentle break... juices only for a few days and then the soaked prunes...

and yes, you body still had lots of feces in it after 7 days... so there's no concern over having two bowel movements.
