How dangerous is it, really, to serve unrinsed nuts or seeds that have been stored in moisture?
Does it make a difference if they are soaked in water vs some kind of juice? What if they are merely mixed in with other, wet ingredients?
If the nuts or seeds are chopped before soaking (more surface area should mean faster soaking), I assume they will still release the toxic and acidic enzyme inhibitors, but will they still be able to sprout?... I assume not. If not, is it less important to rinse them regularly if you intend to store (refrigerate) them?
What about mixing dry, chopped nuts with wet ingredients? would that be notably toxic after a certain amount of time?... Would one be greatly compromising the nutritional value of the nuts for not having rinsed away the enzyme inhibitors?
Thanks for reading my gigantic question.
