I had lunch with some friends and had mexican stirfry and I feel like I'm going to puke. I've been mostly raw for about 3 days. Is this a normal experience?

Fairly normal. You've loaded up on grease, salt, processed, denatured food. After your body was just kind of getting used to the good stuff, it didn't have any warning that the junk was coming back in.

It happens to all us. Hope you feel better.

Thanks. I don't think I'll be doing that again anytime soon. Ugh.

When you asked about cooked rice, thats why I said you can do what you want. Question is what do you want? Is this how you want to feel Its all up to you. Great realization. Perfect right where you are. Enjoy the process.

Believe me, I know the feeling! On Sunday night I went crazy and had a small bag of Kettle Chips and a vegan sandwich... which felt like a huge binge after my green smoothies and things! I can't believe I used to snack on bags of chips three times that size! Hehe... but I've been feeling sort of hungover ever since, and was physically nauseated all day yesterday.

It's kind of a fantastic feeling, isn't it? For once our bodies are able to tell us clearly when something literally isn't sitting right :D

No kidding! I never thought I'd ever get sick from mexican. It was a veggie stirfry so I thought it'd be okay. But nope. Even with the huge salt cravings I'm having these days, it didn't taste nearly as good as I thought it would. Weird.

That's what I found the last time I went off. I did 30 days at 100% and then for a bday we went to our fav thai restaurant. I got the usual, and sampled from others.....It was nearly as tasty as I imagined/remember.

Completely normal! I feel SO sick anytime I go off raw. I wish I could say that prevents me from doing it, but things happen from time to time. Everyone is human. Luckily I start feeling better again as soon as I'm back eating raw. Makes it so obvious that raw is what is healthiest for us.

Just think of it as a learning experience. After a while you will remember how you felt when you ate cooked and be able to ask yourself if you want to feel that way again. Good Luck :)

I always thought the black beans, salsa and fajitos or however you spell it, were healthy. If you think about the average SAD diet, they were as healthy as anything else.

Salsa is healthy.

For many people, large amounts of starch in beans and rice are troublesome to their blood sugar levels. Many people also have underlying IgG type allergies to grains and legumes. Both of these issues apply to me. Beans make me wheeze.

The fajitas may have a lot of oil, which, depending on the type of oil, can be extremely unhealthy (cooked oils are "sticky" in the blood).

I LOVE salsa. What kind of chips can you eat with salsa? Flax seed crackers? I still have yet to find some of those!

We did do dehydrated corn chips, or pieces of onion bread to eat with salsa and guacamole, but recently watched a video that had people eating guac on pieces of cabbage.

Well, there was half a purple cabbage in the fridge, some rawfried beans, and some cheezy stuff... so, we tried it.

Great! best "nachos" I've had in a long time! I whip up some salsa stuff, cheeze, some sort of nut pate/taco filling, and guac, serve with ripped up chuncks of cabbage (about tortilla chip size/shape), and we enjoy that immensely! :p
