Anyone have experience with this? Today is day 38 for me and the day before I began fasting (veggie, fruit/or lemon juice and filtered or distilled water) this rash appeared on my lower legs in the same position on both sides (interesting) then on my upper arms in the same position on both sides and now it has progressed to pretty much all over in varying degrees. I am amazed! It itches to high heaven and oozes. I am allowing my body to do what it needs to do to release the toxins, but I have never experienced this before to this degree.

It is not eczema and is not contagious or an infection. I am just curious to hear others experiences, especially if you continued your detox protocol past the ending date due to something such as this not clearing up, and did you stop if it had not not yet cleared up? I am about ready to transition back to eating raw after day 44 but will continue if need be until this clears up. I took pics 'cause I know people will not believe this once it is over. Thanks!

I don't usually have any major detox systems. It's weird because even when I first embarked raw back in '06 I didn't. I always hear everyone talking about running to the toilets, nausea, rashes and stuff.... The most noticeable thing with me is feeling tired (which is to be expected)..

But I do, let me tell you, always have pimple breakouts on my face which I don't like. I am sometimes left with these nice little brown reminders (not uncommon with dark skin) which take forever to blend back to their natural tone....

That rash you have is really interesting...it's something when you think about what the body will do to eliminate toxins...all the ways it find to get rid of the yuckies lurking within:). Wow and you took pictures...would love to see that..

Thank goodness that you can say this too will pass

if you can possibly continue your fast... i would do so and allow your body to continue releasing and healing.

i would also up your green consumption. chlorella, spirulina, wheatgrass, green juices... that sort of thing... ;)

Sounds like poison ivy/oak/sumac, which I am currently suffering from.

Don't scratch. Baking soda/epsom salt/oatmeal baths to sooth and remove the toxins from the skin. Drink lots of water.

Yes, absolutely about leaving marks, especially on highly melanated skin. I'm just letting it do what it has to do and will take care of that later with patience and skin integrity herbs.

I'm stopping by a friend's house to pick up some Kangen water too, so maybe that will help. :D

A nice soothing lotion is get a bottle of Witch Hazel, add a few drops of Tea Tree Oil, shake it up and apply this as many times as needed daily. It will help. YES, continue your fast, your body will heal...

I hear ya....

I'm working a 40 day-er too; I really needed that cleanse to clear my mind, restore discipline, etc. etc. Found myself eating junkfood - you know one bite turns into two then three, etc. (extremely stressful period of life at the moment with deadlines) and wondering why I was sluggish.... had to kick my own booty:D... this will be year three of my raw vegan journey and I'm ready -finally ready- for the next phase (been consciously rebelling cause I like to be nice and laid back in the background) and to do what I've been called to do which means being the example and being on center stage so to speak ..

Okay enough talking your ears off...save it for another thread

Before I got to running my mouth...

I planned to say CONGRATS on your FORTY days

Is your rash sensitive to the sun?

I'm not sure yet because it has been rainy and overcast here in Baltimore. Too much artificial heat does bother it at times though by making me itch and a bit more irritated.

Has your rash cleared up? A week ago I finished a 14 day fast. Also did a liver cleanse. Now I've got a very itchy rash and a clear liquid oozing out. The rash is on the back of my left thigh and upper back. Today I've also got it on my lower left leg and right hip area. Because it's so itchy I've put aloe vera gel on it. That helps. Just wondering what's been the outcome for you?

Sorry Monika, I just saw this on the forum. Just wanted to tell you this rash had/has nothing to do with the fast I did. It is something totally different. Did yours clear up and did you complete your fast?

I have to thank for all of the answers here. I finished a liver cleanse on Tuesday
and started breaking out in all the little folds wherever the body sweats first - below my breast, back of my knees, under my arms, front of elbow, where my legs attach to my belly and also where my jeans belt hits. It kind of crept up and got worse and worse. It crawled up my neck and hit the lower part of my face. And it was IITTTCHHINNGGG- AARGH - I wanted to tear off my skin.

But I knew that this was really a good thing. The fact that this came out with sweat, showed that these were the toxins that only could come out through the skin, and that it wasn't some other kind of rash.

So, this morning I did a search on this side and after reading this topic I soaked in a tub with epsom salt and after wiped tea tree oil on all the spots. It stopped the itch and I feel so much better now.
