I bought some Debbie Meyer Green bags awhile back. They were a little expensive 20 bags for $8.99 but I thought I wonder if they would really work and help extend the life of my produce. Well the answer is Yes they really do work and you can reuse the bags more than once. I usually just rinse them out.

Because my produce store is so far away from my house I like to really stock up when I go so this has really helped me in the long-run save money.

Just posting this for others to know.

Those didn't work at all for me. And in the case of some things like bananas, actually made them rot overnight.

I put my cauliflower in one and it didn't have any spots or change of color at all or taste. Mine sat for 3 days.

Wow that is weird because I have used them for bananas and they never did that to mine. Did you use a new bag or was it possible a bag you already used several times?

If you have a BIG LOTS or Dollar General near you, they have some green bags that cost less. I think these were the original ones found at Halleluiah Acres..can't remember the name. I bought them 15+ yrs ago. Like them better, cheaper & they have bowls that all mix together. The bowls are great for traveling. I've had blueberries for 3 weeks in the bowls!!

Brand new bag. I got them in all sizes. Ended up throwing them away. I did try to reuse them a few times. No difference between new or old. They all rotted the food.

They ruined my bananas as well. I've now figured out the best place for them is in my cool, dark movie closet. They do so much better in there.

The bags have worked great for other things. I picked some up at the flea market for $5, and then saw a lady selling them for $3!

I use the green bags with these clips:

I have found that keeping the bags airtight helps the produce to last longer.

i think it depends on the brand because debbie meyer worked for my family. kept greens and other veggies and strawberries... it really worked. i wonder if anyone has used the debbie bags and failed for them... if so then i assume they got a defected bag(s)???
