I have a few questions for those who have successful experiences of juice fasting.
(1) Do you think your weight loss from juice fasting was a result of drastically decreased intake of calories? In other words, is it a matter of calorie in/calorie out?
(2) Do you feel your juice fasting produced better/faster results than raw eating in terms of weight loss and health benefits?
(3) Was your weight loss from juice fasting permanent or did you gain back the weight quickly?
(4) I am concerned that weight loss from juice fasting could be mainly muscles since juices contain mostly carbo and littel protein. What do you think?

1) yes
2) yes,too because you can make juices more concentrated than raw foods...
3) permanent
4) wrong because if you juice greens a lot of greens everyday,you don't lose muscles.It is a fact, amino acids help a lot in maintaining muscles.The body starts to break down fat,it is what's happening to me right now.

jennifer, what exactly is it you want to know? you've started a few threads asking questions and i'm not quite sure what it is you are getting at. i would like to assist you... but i'm not sure how.
if you want to release weight... eat a healthy raw diet. it'll bring you more permanent results because honestly if you are fasting just for weight release... chances are you will eat the same way (after your fast) that you did to originally put on the weight.

Since fruit and vegetable juice has loads of enzymes, minerals, and vitamins they're more satisfying. Also, since juice is easy on the digestive system the body can focus on eliminating toxins, which will result in weight loss.

Aleesha, I am trying to get answers to the questions I asked so that I can design for myself a healthy diet as well as shorter-term fasts that I can stay with without too much difficulty. I have 15 extra pounds I hope to release quickly, but I also want to be healthy long-term. Thanks for your valuable sharing. I think many view-ers benefit from such discussions too.

so are you looking to be raw before and after your fasts? if so, then either water or juice fasts will assist you... but 15 pounds can be taken care of easily with a raw diet and a little exercise. ;)
of course, i'm a lover of fasting so if you want to fast... go for it. "it does a body good!"

I think fasting is a fabulous health tool.
I don't think it should ever be used solely just to lose weight. A practice of fasting for weight loss - gaining back the weight with old habits, rinse and repeat is a recipe for really lowering your metabolism
Using it as a cleansing and healing phase while changing habits - that's good.
