View Full Version : Alissa's food
I keep looking at the food online at Alissa's store. It looks wonderful. Has anyone ever ordered any of her cheese or ice cream?
I found a vegan restuarant in St. Augustine Florida. I think they cook a lot of their food. They didn't give the ingredients of their ice cream but I'm thinking it is Dairy based.

Of course we did :D As soon as Grezzo started mailing it we were so excited because we have always wanted to check out the restaurant, still haven't but one day will!
We did a few orders. And WOW totally worth the price.
We did one small order and one very large order and they both came totally frozen still. Even the cheese was still so frozen we couldn't eat it, and ya we tried on the way home from picking it up across the border.. they use dry ice I think to keep it frozen and it is only shipping for a few days maybe 2 I can't remember... so not long at all. Just wish we didn't have to cross the border to pick it up..
We havent ordered in a long time now but I definitely recommend it if you have the money and are too far to sit in the restaurant.
I just can't say enough about it. :)

wow, yeah i'm about a 4 hour drive from the border. Did you get it shipped to a friends or just a post office? I've stayed away from the icecream because of dairy, but sometimes in the summer it's just nice to have. I love banana icecream tho, so my vitamix helps with that. :)

Post Office ya.
Ya banana ice cream will sometimes cure the craving for dairy ice cream in the summer. Once you try Grezzo's ice cream you'll never want dairy ice cream again.. especially after having it and that you KNOW raw ice cream can taste just like dairy ice cream you can try making it yourself .. that I haven't done yet.
This summer I really want to try freezing grapes. I keep hearing they are really good frozen. I bet home made nectarine ice cream would be really good for a fat free cold treat.
Ok, let's do this. Starting in June we will start a Raw Ice Cream Club! We can make different Raw Ice Cream and share recipes and results with the group.
I think for a treat, I am going to buy some of Alissa's Ice Cream. Oh yum.
My book has still not arrived. I am now regretting that I did not order it speed mail, :(

The ice cream is fantastic. I loved lavender blue and a spicey chocolate one(can't remember the exact name). They are a wonderful way to treat yourself. The brownies are out of this world.
The cheese was too much for me to eat after I defrosted it, but I don't usually eat a lot of raw cheese anyway. I did stuff mushrooms with it and it was very good.

Is it a vegan restaurant or a vegetarian one? I doubt a vegan restaurant would serve dairy ice cream.

The ice creams are nut and coconut based.

The cheeses are absolutly amazing. It is awesome how creamy and right on they are to real cheese (but wayyyyy better). My only issue is that the pints they ship our too big for me to eat within 5 days of defrosting. I wish they could package them in 1/2 pint containers so that a pint may last you longer without going bad.
I am going to request that next time I order.
With thanks,
Cynthia

You can BUY frozen grapes too, in the fruit section of the freezer, They're called De-Vine Grapes, made by Europe's Best I think. My SAD ex can sit and eat a whole bowl like popcorn. The natural sugar crystalizes on the outside of the grape so they taste like frozen candy kind of.
