Hello Everyone,

I am almost 56 and preparing to begin this raw food journey for the first time. I am a great advocate of green living and taking responsibility for personal health, and I've studied and tried various diets: Chinese Food Therapy and Macrobiotics, for example. Although these are much better than the SAD I lived with most of my life, I am still not feeling as well as I believe I could. Too many aches and pains, skin eruptions, frequent constipation, and more. My meditation and light exercise are somewhat helpful, but life just has to be better than this. I guess I refuse to believe that I have to feel like a senior citizen even if I'm getting there chronologically!

So, I am just now ordering Alissa's book, and I'm excited about embarking on this hopefully permanent life-changing adventure. I look forward to the support of this forum--I suspect there may be some tough moments ahead.:)

P.S. Anyone from the Kansas City area?

Thanks for all your kind replies! I am feeling a little overwhelmed with the prospect of getting started on this. Can anyone recommend a particular topic area where I can get some general beginner advice?

Look at the entries to the monthly raw challenges. They list what they have been eating for the day. A lot of it is simple to make. Good luck!
