Over the past couple of days I'd been having some patches of itchy skin. nothing major, figured it was just dry skin or something as the weather has been exceptionally dodgy.

all of a sudden today, I am going totally nuts with itching. My scalp, arms, chest, ankles, elbows, all over keep getting these brutal itchy feelings. So far as I can see there is no rash, no bumps, no lice (I work in an elementary school, always an option)

I've been slacking on the raw food, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was due to increased toxins or such, so I'm totally cutting out the dairy and eggs I had been eating. In the meantime, any recommendations to treat the symptoms?

Matt I was just looking on the internet for a similar problem. It's very very dry where I am, but i've got two small rough dry patches on my cheeks and my elbows and backs of hands are super dry and flakey. After getting out of the shower i have to put coconut oil all over or it hurts to move or stretch my skin as it's so dry. I eat 95% raw so im wondering if its something im not getting... someone on 30bananasaday said dry skin can mean too much potassium maybe... i don't know. Is eating 5 bananas a day in smoothies too much? I eat tons and tons of oranges too and am increasing my spinach and other lettuces too. I cannot tell if its detox or the dry weather. I also still drink a lot of water even after eating fruit all day.

also, I've been eating cooked wheat for passover, I'm wondering if it could be a reaction to cooked gluten? Anyone have any experience with this?

OH MY GOSH! When I had my (ahem) set back (see my confession below), the same thing happened to me. I itched! It's food toxins! At least in my case it was...

Matt - you figure our skin is our biggest organ, so yeah, def. could be a reaction!

What helped relieve the itching was number one - going back to Raw, two - plenty of water, three - witch hazel and a few drops of tea tree oil in the WH bottle. Then smooth this on where it itches.

My biggest symptom is ITCHY SKIN! I was going crazy last night, myself. I ate a cup of Raisins and Viola - itchy! I get that from Coffee, Chocolate (including Cacao) and Sugar (condensed or refined) mostly.

Thanks VFL and Veronica. I'll try the witch hazel, definately switching back to raw. Really want to make a raw taco salad again :-)

I'm right with you! I've been eating wheat and my scalp & skin are SO itchy. Eek!

No more, I'm done! I can't wait to get this crap out of my system. I'm hoping it will only take a few days to feel better again.

increase water to help flush the gunk out! It will go away. The sooner you get back to 100% Raw, the better.

Hope the itchiness eases off for you real soon.

Haha, that taco salad is addicting seriously... I'm contemplating making it for a potluck so i don't eat it all myself. i don't like walnuts plain but they make great mock meals. :)
