I started juicing carrots and beets two days ago for my lunch. Great combo. This morning when i woke up my urine was a bit dark and pink. Not clear like normal. I googled carrot juice and it said it makes the urine more diluted but beets may turn it pink. I only added one whole beet to the juice of like 15 carrots. Is this normal?

What's normal for you may not be normal for me. But my urine is green a lot. Seriously! It's nuts. It's about the color of the green on this forum! Crazy, huh?
First time I juiced beets and then poo'd? I was scared. It was blood-red! But then realized what I had eaten.

I know what you mean. I was a little nervous this morning. Then I remembered eating the beets. Now it's back to clear but then again I'm having some carrots and beet juice for lunch again.:D

Yes beets make color in urine sometimes and in stool.
Thats why it is used for natural dyes..heheheheee

Victoria Boutenko speaks about this in her Book "Green for Life". It means you have low stomach acid. She also has a chapter on Hypochlorhydria (low levels of hydrochloric acid).

To be honest it's not such a great sign. It indicates that yuor kidneys aren't working on 100% level. If your urine turns pink after eating red beetroots it means, that the kidneys didn't purify your blood as they should. Nothing serious in it itself, but it shows you to better take care of your kidneys and return them to top condition-level.

Is that true if your urine turns green or yellow ( asparagus) such as in the above posts? Or just beets. Can I ask where you found that information. I would be curious to read it.
I actually just read some information on beets and that generally this will happen. Som esay it could be an iron issue. I think Veganfor life got it right when she said what is normal for one may not be normal for someone else.

Where are you getting this information? I'm curious...
I just think since I am consuming an ABUNDANCE of greens that is why mine and let me clarify it's the first pee after drinking a green smoothie/juice concentrate that is green. The following pees are normal then. But I feel it's just because it's such a strong concoction that it's normal - for me anyway!

wow...
I remember a few years a go I read a blog where the person wanted to see how many beets he had to eat to get his wee to turn pink.
It took him a while, maybe a week or so.
The only difference is that he always COOKED the beets before eating them.
That's amazing that you juiced ONE and had pink wee, whereas this guy had to eat many many more to get his wee to turn pink

true, I used to eat a lot of pickled beets and they never affected the color of my urine, but one beet in juice does.
I too read in Victoria B's book that the pink color from beets was due to low hydrochloric acid in the stomach. When people took hydrochloric pills with meals, over time, the color goes away, or they consumed a lot of greens in green smoothies.
