Hi all. I have two strange occurrences happening to me and I was hoping someone here might have had some luck curing it with raw food or if you have any tips on how to cure these "issues" naturally, I would love to find out. :)

My first problem is hearing a pop in my ears whenever I swallow.. this is a strange one and it seems it could be related to many other issues (TMJ or various other ear disorders). It doesn't hurt or anything but knowing it isn't normal troubles me. It also seems that my ears/head always feel "full" as if pressure is built up.

The second thing I've noticed is one of my nostrils is always, -ALWAYS- blocked. It alternates between lefty and righty but I never have both nostrils open. This one doesn't bother me as much, however. : ) Just wanted to see if anyone else faces this?

Thank you, I appreciate any help or tips. <3

Oil pulling. It is surpose to be great for all kind of problems with sinus and blocked nose. The poping in your ear is because of posible blocage in the passage btw. you nose and ears. Oil pulling will loosen up the blocage and people usaly get a lof of discarge from the nose after oilpulling. Otherwise peppermint oil in steeming hot water and inhale that works everytime for me.
Maby it can be allergy ??? Supporting your imunesystem will always be good, also using the raw food diet to do so :D

I never even thought of oil pulling :) I hope it is an allergy, it seems a less serious candidate haha.

I have started (a few weeks now) using a neti pot every morning after breakfast and love it.
We keep the rest of our body clean so why not or nose.

I have had problems on and off in the past with a similar ear-popping thing... i always wondered if it was related to candida....not sure why i thought this, but it did seem to occur when i went off raw and was eating alot of junk and sugar. it seems to be gone at the moment but sometimes it returns with a vengeance, and its extremely annoying....swallow, ear pops, a minute later, it feels "full" again, only way to get full feeling to go away was to swallow again, then it immediately "filled up" again. not sure what it is though but gosh it was annoying..

Try a neti pot for the blockage in your nose...

You probably have one of the following occurring:

1) sensitivity to a food you have just introduced to your diet (for example, I get blocked sinuses in the morning if I eat anything with black pepper in it, the previous day).

2) your body may be detoxifying, one route of which is through mucus production (as a carrier) and expulsion. However, FAR too many things are flippantly and ignorantly attributed to 'detox' in the raw food community, so don't go overboard with blaming detox ;)

As far as experiencing only one nostril or the other being blocked, this is actually a reflection of deeper physiological processes, which you are simply becoming more aware of due to 'blocked' or inflamed mucus membranes/channels. If you do some reading on the topic of 'pranayama' ( very simplistically put, this refers to 'yogic breathing' techniques, albeit, more specifically, a term pertaining to 'control of vital force' - Prana Yama), you will find that the ancient rishis noticed a peculiarity of human physiology, in that the human respiratory system has a tendency to allow air flow only through one or the other of the nasal passages at any given time. They further noticed that this propensity was linked to certain brain states. Moreover, they found that by deliberately manipulating the airflow (for example, by using finger and thumb to force airflow through each nostril, in various sequences) they could, in so doing, deliberately influence the brain. Although they did not directly understand the neurophsyiology behind this discovery, what they were striving for was a state whereby airflow occurs through both nostrils simultaneously. Why would they want to achieve this? Because they realised that when airflow occurs simultaneously through both nostrils, the mind is in a very relaxed state - ideal for meditation. What we now know, with modern neuroscientific scanning tools (such as PET scanning and EEG amps) is that this state directly relates to synchrony of the left and right brain hemispheres. When the nostrils are synchronised, so are the two hemispheres of the brain, and, curiously, one also experiences a subjective state of mental equanimity.

So unless you are in a meditative state (which most people rarely experience for any significant period of time, unless they are deliberately practising meditation and/or meditiation techniques), it is absolutely to be expected that one of your nostrils will carry more airflow than the other, at any given point in time, and also that the nostrils 'swap over', in this regard, approximately each and every hour of the day. In short, what you are experiencing is absolutely NORMAL!! :)

It's most likely an allergy. I had the exact same symptoms when I was allergic to a new perfume that I used.
