I have yet another question for you all. Since cutting out the junk and eating raw foods (3 weeks tomorrow), I first noticed my skin get clearer. After the first week, I got a little patch of seborrhea on my cheek and also started breaking out. Then a few days later I got another little patch of seborrhea on my eyelid. During all of this, I am scraping lots of white gunk off my tongue and feeling really tired and irritable. I'm thinking the seborrhea is from detox, I'm hoping it is...because I have had it before and nothing would clear it up except meds. My acne is now clearing up again but I still have the seborrhea patches.
Any tips, clues, ideas, thoughts?
I really appreciate all the advice I've been given so far. You guys are a great help. :o I'm learning quite a lot about detox. Detox can take awhile and sort of come in waves, can't it?

What happened when you took meds is it suppressed your symptoms, and now that you are cleaning your body...it is pushing toxins back out through your skin.....I have had similar problems, but I'm sure yours (and mine!) will clear up if you keep up the good work!

Some things seems to ge get worse before they get better, that's detox. So things are coming out and they have to go somewhere. Drink plenty of Water this will help to flush them out. Medication only Mask a problem, that's why it appears to go away, it has a mask over it.

I get this too, plus dyshydrosis on my hands, but it seems to be getting milder 17 days into raw foods (I had it from before). For me, it is a reaction to eating concentrated foods, in this case nuts & seeds, so I am trying to go every other day without them to give my body a little break (but not this week, too much stress, I'll deal with the rash).
You need to help the skin barrier as much as you can during this time so, no soaps, no sodium lauryl sulfate products, slap some shea butter w/a little tea tree oil & vitamin e (just a few drops of tt & a capsule of E in a tbs of shea butter is good) on those patches to treat it externally & help it heal. Jojoba oil is wonderful also.
I hope it gets better soon! :o

Chilblains
You can google it. Use images if you want to see.

Awesome! Well, not exactly, but I'd never heard of chilblains until now - I had them on my toes (very mild - some of those pictures were scary!) every so often since I went back to eating some cooked foods, always when I knew my circulation was bad & often when I was eating too much starch. I mentioned it in my blog a few days ago: "The circulation in my feet was awful, and they had been turning purple when I sat down. Healed! I had weird lumps all over my toes which were also purple. Healed!"
I like to know what things are, so I am excited. I'm still eating salt, but my "blains" went away after a few days raw. :o I could see too much salt causing circulation issues & therefore chilblains.
Thanks!
My little dry patches always take about a month to heal from onset...Maybe yours just need a little time. :)
My tongue scraping lasted 24 hours, you are making me feel blessed.

Awesome!!! Thank you for the replies. I think they'll go away on their own. The one on my cheek is starting to. I really think this must be suppressed stuff that is coming out. I have been using Dr. Bronner's soaps to wash and tea tree oil. I think my cycle didn't help, my hormones are a bit wacked out to begin with, but with the diet change I think they went even nuttier this month!! hehe!
