View Full Version : Ringworm of the skin "athletes foot/jock itch"
My husband has had a rash under his armpit for a few months now and it's been flaring up on and off.
We've been treating it (well, he's been treating it) with brand-name skin creams/ointments like Lamisil/Tinactin.
But now he came to me to let me know that he now has had a rash down near his jock for the past few weeks.
I did some research to find out that this is a fungal infection and may need antibiotics.
He doesn't have health insurance, and frankly - I'd prefer to treat this naturally.
Any suggestions?

Coconut oil worked great for my sons athelete foot.
He has a different fungus now and the doctor had us spray deoderant on it.
This seems to be clearing up this infection.

I've treated 'fungal' skin infections such as Jock Itch, ringworm, athlete's foot, with exactly the same medication as women use, Monistat or something simillar. Wash his underware in bleach if it is not offensive to you and dry them in the dryer or out in the sunlight. I wonder why he is getting fungal infections of the skin. My first thought is diabetes.

What I have learned about fungus is that it comes from the inside out. So, to treat it topically does not get rid of it but, may relieve some of the external issues. So, DIET has everything to do with the level of recovery he will get.
I have been dealing with Candida for quite some time now and what I am finding out is that when I eat a High Fat diet it flares up. Especially, when I combine the Fat with Sugar......OMG!. Now, that's contrary to other ideas which, is to remove sugar. Fruit sugar and lespecially ow-glycemic fruit sugar seems to be fine for me as long as I stay away from fat.
Also, a Glove of Garlic swolled whole with some holes in it or a half a clove if its large twice a day really really relieves symptoms and starts eating it away along with Coconut Oil -another anti-bacterial - anti-fungal.
GOod Luck!

I've treated ringworm with taking raw garlic internally* (my method is to blend 3 cloves with a cup of very warm water and a dash of acv, then chuck that down 3x per day - this is antibiotic strength, 9 cloves total per day) & swabbing it down with raw acv after bathing. Mix 1tbs of coconut oil with 1tbs tea trea oil (and a little shea butter to make it thicker, if you have it, optional) with a fork & apply a small amount to the area several times daily. Since it is near sensitive genitalia, I would recommend putting a nice layer of coconut oil or shea butter on the genitals to protect them from the tea trea oil before applying it. (The topical treatments usually work on their own, but it is nice to have the insurance of garlic. I recommend eating lots of parsley to balance the funk.)
Like the others said, to prevent it from returning, one definitely needs to make one's body resistant to microbial infections. Good luck!
* If he has a sensitive stomach, take this with food.

antibiotics will not cure a fungal infection. you need an antifungal. the previous posters have excellent suggestions. also try tree tea oil

Will it kill warts?
Myca
ive read taping a peice off banana peel , inside of peel towards skin , heals warts
Also, caution your husband about 'scratching'. He is transferring the fungus from one point to another. It is contagious and very, very tough. Tell him to change his underware every time they get wet. Eat no sugar if possible.

I know that very very strong unpasteurized apple cider vinegar (like when it has sat out in a glass jar in warm temperatures & has a big ole mother culture in it) will kill warts. You take a little piece of a cotton ball, rolled up to just fit over the wart, soak it in the strong ACV, then position over the wart & cover with a little bandage (or some duct tape, LOL). Do this twice per day & leave it on; when showering, scrub the wart with a coarse cloth (don't use the cloth anywhere else). Once the wart is gone, however long it takes, use vitamin E to help the skin heal...I would whip up some shea butter w/a few drops of tea tree oil & vitamin E to help the raw skin heal while preventing a return of the wart. (My son had one on his foot once after running around barefoot in the park during the heat wave a few years ago).
Okay, so far this is my action plan:
1. Bathing only with castor oil soap (read that online)
2. Swab area twice dailing with ACV and dab with Tea Tree Oil
3. Consume garlic and some anti-fungal supplements (Pau d'arco) etc.
4. Take coconut oil twice daily.
5. Eat a low sugar diet. Does this mean no fruit?

How about witch hazel with a few drops of tea tree oil and apply this solution frequently?

tea tree oil and silver biotics externally
silver biotics internally
oil of oregano internally
low sugar would help....if he is raw and getting sensitive to his own body he should be able to determine in a short period of time what fruits and foods will trigger him
good luck!

Yeah well, don't ask anybody else about a no or low-sugar diet. Because frankly that makes you a retard and not welcome in this forum.

I'm doing a 'low sugar' diet right now to rid my self of excess candida, so I eliminated all fruits (although some people say you can still have berries and grapefruits....I wanted to be on the safe side and just eliminate all of them.....it is only temporary!) I also eliminated all sugars like honey, dates, maple syrup, etc....I am using stevia in my tea for sweetener....oh, I also eliminated coffee (which I usually drink with creme in it, yuck..I know...) So, basically I'm juicing greens with some lemon in the mornings, and salads with avocado for lunch and dinner sometimes some steamed veggies or a baked sweet potato (I know I know, not 100% raw!, but I'm doing my best!)

Okay. I think I'm going to just cut out the fruit in his diet and tell him to lay off of the coffee for a few days.
His diet is very health SAD, somewhat raw (of what I CAN control)
Thank you for all of your advice.
Look forward to getting this eradicated...he's so uncomfortable and ashamed by this. Especially since he has EXCELLENT personal hygiene.

No, it means 'no refined sugar' ....candy ect. Candida loves candy.
Myca
I should have said Candida and friends (close relatives) love refined sugar. Tell him not to be ashamed, this has nothing to do with hygiene except the scratching part, that will transplant it.
