Has anyone ever contacted trader joes about their raw nuts - to see if they are "raw" according to our standards here???
TJ's seem very customer oriented. I think we could get a straight answer?

ALL their nuts? Or just the almonds?
someone on another thread reported that they sprouted raw cashews from trader joes......I thought cashews were the least likely to be really raw.....

I have investigated with friends and they say the org ones from spain at TJS are raw. They appear to be when soaked as well. They do not sprout per se but nuts dont get a sprout really.
I am interested to hear too.Thankx

they pasturize them during the packaging process so they are still able to call them "raw," but they are not actually raw.

I knew about the pasturizing of almonds and they still can say they are raw. Yet I have talked with the experts and they say these from spain are still raw.
I will go back to the drawing board and see.

it is because when they seal the bags they have to heat it in order to seal it. it's pretty scandalous.
contact trader joe's.

Sealing the bag would heat the nuts? Also if its hot enough to heat them then it would also emit plastic chems into them?
I had been buying "raw" cashews until I found out they were not raw. Sent away for really raw on raw website and the difference was amaZing. Definitely see raw difference..woohoo love the raw difference.

Well, that sucks. Trader Joe's has the cheapest nuts around here... I sprouted their sunflower seeds once and they were fine. What is it exactly that they do to them? They spray them with some sort of chemical? How are they to health?

Wow!
It's tough to be raw alone in the big city!!!
Boo to trader Joes!
Except for their excellent organic oranges, apples, and banonos!
And the limes, and avocados, and tomatoes too!
