This is day 6 I think and I am having problems. My food tastes bad. I am getting more hungry, and my mother in law is in the kitchen cooking Fried Chicken and Mashed potatoes.

On the positive side, my foot hurts less than it did a week ago.
I am getting very tired of my raw food.
So what to do when the food gets yucky?

I hope you can weather this challenge!

It's all about focusing on what you want your life to be - not on what may be easy and convenient - ie the feast in the kitchen.

Make a lovely green smoothie to keep you nutritionally satisfied and hopeful safe from temptation.

There's so much variety! Just keep experimenting with different foods and recipes. If you need to, purchase some pre-made meals or snacks either locally or through the internet.

.....what do you want for your life?

May I steal this saying and post on my fridge and mirror?

Before your MIL fries up that chicken, take a look at the dead bloody carcass. really take a good look at it. check out the yellow subcutaneous fat that you will (not) digest, simmering in all of the fried juices and probably coated with white flour. know they will be deposited somewhere in your colon, tissues, lungs and will impact the absorption of nutrients into your body, if you get any at all. know that you will more than likely feel terrible after you eat it. not only because of what you're physically eating, but because this chicken probably died a tortuous death and was pumped full of hormones. and guess what? you'll absorb that too. know that your liver, pancreas and gall bladder will be overworked trying to process & filter all of those trans fatty acids & saturated fats. now that's what I call yucky.

is it the raw food that's yucky? or is it the emotions that are being dredged to the surface eating raw foods? i have a feeling it's the latter. you are managing your emotions which is so common, we've all been there. consider this as you decide what to eat tonight. get a pad and pen and write down how you're feeling. yes, it will be easier to eat the comfort foods then to ride out those crappy feelings. but if you can get through it, you will transcend the game forever. and you are headed for greatness, coming from my very biased opinion. :)

if you don't want to eat raw/living foods, hey that's okay. and I mean this.

it's your call and your choice. it's your life.

it's You living in your body and only you.

what do you want to experience?

wishing you the best. (((hugs)))

Myca,

have a look at the photos only thread in the raw recipe and raw food prep section. I get lots of inspiration from visual things, so going in there and looking at all the yummy stuff helps me to plan what I'd like to eat. I simply look in there, spy something I'd like to recreate and go off and make a recipe of my own.

But as others have said, what do you want from your life? Is it pain, slow degeneration and premature ageing, myriad medical probelms as you get older (or now) or is it vibrant health, boundless energy, a lithe figure, healthy skin, hair, eyes, nails body etc?

It IS difficult at the start for most people, but let me tell you it gets so much easier after a while.

Make some gourmet raw stuff, that satisfies me totally now. When I want something heavier I make taco meat with nuts, or dehydrate veggie or nut burger and have them on flax bread. I make delicious raw desserts and eat as much as I want.

Do you have any places that serve raw food in your area, maybe you could treat yourself to a night out. What about a healthfood store with pre prepared snacks and meals?

Hang in there, the benefits have only just started creeping out from under the covers, you aint seen nothin yet!

Well I got through yesterday. It was bad. I woke up with a clear tongue and fresh fruit.
No I did not eat the chicken. or the potatoes.
I threw a clementine orange in my smoothie and it was a Godsend. I was amazed. When I got to work, last night, a coworker had made mango salsa, with jalapeno in it. The pepper made my whole mouth feel fresh.
My energy level, which had vanished and left me completely drained, returned.

I was having sinus trouble the day before, and yesterday. I woke up yesterday afternoon and it was gone.
Thanks everyone,:D
