I read the book about the green smoothies, "Green for Life". It was so interesting I read it in two nights!!
So today was my 2nd green smoothie. I have just a regular blender for now, which works okay, but I end up with a lot of foam on the top after it sits for awhile. I drink it fairly slowly, to make it last, because it's good!!! But the foamy part is not as pleasant. Do you guys get the foam?

I don't get the foam. It tells me that you don't like your smoothies as thick as I do.
The more liquidity it has, the more things can separate and rise to the top.

I don't get foam either and I tend to make mine pretty thick as well. I only end up using about 1/4 cup of water or juice in my smoothies. Just enough liquid to get the mixture moving.
That said, I do have a vita mix (got it used on craigslist) so I'm not sure if that makes a difference.

I add lots of water to mine, I add about 1 part water to 2 parts greens. I get an inch or so of foam at the top of the blender but if I let it sit a few minutes it usually disappears back into the mixture. Mine has pulp at the top if I let it sit but I just shake it to mix it up, I keep it in a water bottle and sip it all day long at work.
I have just a regular blender.

I add about a cup of rejuvelac to my smoothies and I get the seperation if it sits for a while.
I use a vitamix and it happens too. I just stir the smoothie to mix it up again.

mine never has foam... i use almond milk or water for the base, then i add the green and blend and then bananas and blend and then i add ice or frozen fruit cuz i like it cold and creamy.

foam! that is interesting... what are you using in your smoothie? I've never had foam... but then again, I always drink mine pretty quickly.

Celery can make it foamy.

The foam will settle down and form juice. I also rinse My Container and drink that water.

Thanks for the replies. I think adding too much water does make it foamy at the top. I tried less water and it seemed to work. Thank you!!!
