Hello everyone!! Looking for some input on people's experiences with B12 supplements - I've been a raw fooder for about 4 months & just picked up some B12 sublingual supplements. I was going for the Vitamin Code raw B12, however my health food guy recommended the sublingual as a more effective delivery of B12. I've researched online & it seems like a matter of opinion! All I know is that I don't want to be or become deficient :)
I know these supplements I have are not raw or vegan, which I'm kind of ok with...but until I hear some more feedback from true "people in the know" (aka...you guys!) I'm going to hold off on buying another type.
Thank you for your time!

Lindsey:rolleyes:

I was just going to post that I found a new B12 supplement from my naturopath. Most tablets are made with lanolin and are hence not vegan. This is an acacia (something or other) emulsion with some sesame oil in it. I'll get the acacia "what" when I get home from work. I guess its not raw because of the sesame oil but at least it is vegan. A drop is 1000 IU.

I am doing quite well on Jarrow Formula B12. I was experiencing what I believe to be a deficiency, (guess I couldn't be 100% sure) but my symptoms disappeared when I began supplementing. Alot of people use fermented foods for B12, but I just never get around to it.

I use Jarrow B12, too. It's vegan. It's cheap and easily obtainable from iherb.com and probably other places online, too. There's no need to use non-vegan B12 if you don't want to.

Has anyone tried the B12 patch? Some sources claim that oral B12 absorption is very low, less than 2%.

I've not used the patch because it requires you to wear it up to 24 hrs. I think the sublingual is more convenient. Both method delivers b12 directly to your bloodstream. It's true that oral b12 is poorly absorbed.

ive heard , like previously stated here , of mixed opinions on the effectivnes
of sublingual . but no matter because whatever 12 i use i just let it disolve in my mouth anyway as insurance

and for years ive used now brand vegetarian formula b12 but recently logicked that its best to use several different brands as insurance in case ones not doing the job

and i noticed the rather bright / well informed member here rawstrength state using JARROW BRAND B12 so i bought a bottle of their METHYL B-12 , im sucking on a tablet right now = lemon flavored :D

i also got a bottle of KAL BRAND METHYLCOBALAMIN B12 , strawberry flavored . this b12 stuff is like my candy ;) . and i still use the now brand so have 3 and change up .

plus i organic garden and leave dirt on alot of the things i eat outta garden for the said to be 12 in the soils micro organism habitat . i tend to now leave the dirt kicked up by rain on my romaine leaf intact as opposed to washing it off

I use sublingual melatonin, and it definitely gets absorbed. I can tell.

I also use Jarrow B12 (http://www.iherb.com/Jarrow-Formulas-Methyl-B-12-5000-mcg-60-Lozenges/117?at=0)(sublingual). It's what my holistic MD recommends and I've been using it for almost 4 years. *Ü*

I just discovered that you can get B12 from a fruit- they are called Inca berries (sometimes goldenberries)!! You can find them and read about them at www.thesuperfoodexperience.com

Why do these berries have B12 and other fruits do not?

I will have to check into that Jarrow B12! I am pretty sure I have been feeling quite a bit of difference since i've been supplementing :)
Hope everyone is well! Thank you!

I cant kill animals. I would like to eat snakes but i would feel sorry for them in the moment of biting. Ants are great. U take a small glass of honey go to an ant-place and let them get trapped(wait) They go in you take the honey with the ants and make a smoothie.

I feel sorry for them too, but i can do it. I have to do it.

So the Jarrow Formula you just take every 3 or 4 days? Not everyday?

Suggested Use
Dissolve under tongue or chew one lozenge every 3 or 4 days with a meal, or as directed by your qualified health care consultant.

I read that analogues in spirulina and other sea weeds, actually competes with b12, or something to that effect so should you really space it out when you take it, if you plan on eatin sea veggies?

I'm using 'Now' brand 'Ultra B-12' Cellular Energy Boost (5000 mcg B-12 per tsp/ 3 forms of B-12 for maximum absorbtion/ includes 800mcg of folic acid). Don't know about raw but it's vegan and the taste is bearable....kinda. LOL!

I used to buy supplements but now I just have B12 injections. I understand that atheletes do this as well. Works much better, lasts longer and is cheaper. It costs me about $15 for the shot and it lasts several months. I get them from my accupuncturist who is also an MD.

WHat fermented foods give you B12 and how do you buy or make them?
