Apple Detox/Fast

Does anyone here have experience with the Apple or Apple Juice Fast?

I've been hearing about people fasting on apples or apple juice to detox. Even heard it recommeded on The Doctors TV show to clear acne. A lot of online sources on this cite Edgar Cayce.

Since I like apples and apple juice, this should be pretty easy for me to do, but I have been trying to find a good apple smoothie recipe to use as prep in the days before I start the fast or even use as an option during the fast.

Any ideas or recipes on apple smoothies?

I did it ages ago when I didn't know anything about the raw magic: I ate apples (only) for over one week and felt GREAT! Enjoy the apple time.
I did the same thing with grapes too :)

honestly ANY juice fast will clear up your acne... so why not have some variety in your juices?

i don't know anything about an apple fast though... sorry.

Freshlight: A grape fast? Did you find it as energizing as the apple fast?
Most of the people that I know of who have done the apple fast, like you at the time, weren't otherwise following raw lifestyles.

For me, apples are filling and give a lil crunch to my salads. The juice gives a sweetness to my smoothies and carrot juice.

Since I've been enjoying lots of apples and apple juice lately, this is a good time for me to do the apple fast. I think I'll do both apples and apple juice (with lots of water) next week.

If I don't otherwise find a recipe for a good apple smoothie, I'll be experimenting to come up with one this weekend.

I couldn't find this (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/showthread.php?t=18498) thread on the apple fast when I did a search here last night, but I came across it when I did a Google search today. It provided a link
(http://www.lesliekenton.com/circle/detox/apple_magic.htm ) that explains the 2 day fast - although I usually hear of it being done for a minimum of 3 days.

I'm off to buy more apples now!
