How do you know if you have it? There are so many symptoms...I mean any symptom you have you could probably find something that says it is a candida symptom....! Is there a test or some other way to know...that is not too expensive?

thanks!

google the candida spit test.

First thing in the morning you just work up some spit and spit into a clear glass full of pure water, after 30 min look at it and see if you have any long dangly strings, if so, probably candida.

thanks veronica...well....I'm pretty sure after doing this test that I have it.....so I have started a candida cleanse....No fruit, no other sugars, still low fat (no oils, no nuts or seeds...) still eat avocados though.....I won't be using apples in my veggie juices....the thing I miss most is my strawberry banana smoothies! but it is only temporary and totally worth it....so I will stick it out.....I'm also taking Garden of Life Fungal Defense, and Grapefruit Seed Extract......and no more coffee or green/black/white tea....only herbal teas....so far so good....I'm gonna do about a month of this diet....I'm on day 2 and so far I have a headache, really bad taste in my mouth, and am really really tired! I hope that means it is working!

Hey Rayray,
what exactly are you eating if not fruit or sugar, but low fat?

Ray ray eating low sugar/no sugar will not get rid of candida. Every person has candida it is there to save your life. It eats up the EXCESS sugar in your blood if your body cannot handle and process it fast enough so it does not kill you. TOO MUCH FAT in your blood (eating nuts and sugars together, any heavy dense fatty foods) and eating sugar with it or even 4-6 hours after makes it impossible for your body to process it as it's bogged down digesting the fat. Your candida flares up in an effort to protect you and then you get symptoms excess yeast, acne etc. People think that candida is evil and healthy people don't have it and you need to kill it, trust me that is wrong. I have been struggling with acne for years and I have found that eliminating nuts and oils and only eating avocados occaisionally has been the greatest help. When you eat very low fat your body is able to catch up and function properly and clean the blood effectively. I highly reccommend the 80/10/10 diet book by Dr. Douglas Graham, and start tracking your food intake in fitday.com and make sure your fat intake is between 5-10% if you want the full benefits of a healthy body. All fruits and vegetables contain protein and fat anyways so you will never have a problem with protein or fat defficiancy. I hope this helps you. Go to http://myoptinpage.com/?pid=2961304&pop=0 and enter in your email address and you'll get a free 30 page article about fruit and candida from Frederic Patenaude. :)

Also there is no such thing as a low fat low sugar (carbohydrate diet) if you are not eating most of your calories from fruit you are on a high fat diet. Nuts, seeds, avocado and oil are mostly fat and low in protein and the calories are dense in fat so you need to be aware of the ratios you are eating if you want optimal digestion and organ function.

Yes there is a test, you can buy it at Walmart. I think monistat puts it out. There are three day creams to use. They work well on most people...
Is there discharge and what color, odor?

green veggie juices, and salads....some lightly cooked veggies....and usually 1 avocado per day....

plus the fungal defense and GSE to kill off excess candida
