I had bought 2 packs of kelp noodleson ebay and really like hem so I just ordered 2 cases of 12. The chow mein is really good with them, I haven't tried other recipes with them and am out of them for now. Are they also good with tomato sauce?
I was also surprised that they are already in water and soft when you get them, I was undert the impression they were dry and you had to soak them for a while.

Thanks for bringing this up - are they perishable the way they are packaged? Or if I purchase a couple packages - must I eat them right away?

Cupboard storage or fridge?

You drain them, soak them to get rid of the smell/taste of the packing liquid, and then use them.
At least, that's what I did with the one package I tried :p

Their website says fridge but they do not need to be refrigerated, I don't know how long at room temp.

I order them a case at a time, too.
Actually, I like them better when I am getting to the ones that have been sitting in the fridge the longest. The longer they sit, the softer the texture.
I haven't ever put a tomato based sauce on them, I always do Asian flavors.

I got 2 cases because I'm in Canada and got significant savings by getting 2, firstly they give you $6 off the noddles themseves if you get 2 cases ($3 off per case when ordering 2 or more) and shipping for a case was $26 and shipping for 2 was $33 so I saved $19 on shipping too compared to buy one case 2 times.
There's one thing I'm worried about now though, I got acne this past week and haven't cheated with much cooked food that would cause acne. I checked yesterday what foods can cause acne and kelp was listed in many websites. I hope that's not what gave mt the acne this past week because now I'll have 2 cases of it! I'll make sure not to eat any cooked foods which I know cause acne until it clears up and if it comes back when I eat the kelp noodles I'll know that was it, but I hope not.

I love kelp noodles. I make good stuff with them. O and seaweed.

I might try these, a lady in town imports them so i'd probably try a bag before i was sold on them. I never let myself eat many SAD noodles in the first place so i'd have to find a recipe i liked. :) How are they?

They are similar in texture to al dente SAD noodles and have pretty much no taste. Sometimes when I want real noodles that aren't too unhealthy I use organic brown rice pasta and put a raw sauce on them, but with kelp noodles I could give up cooked noodles for good. The only thing is they are very expensive and don't have many calories at all, it's 18 calories per bag so it's sort of like paying a fortune for water. I also hope they are not the cause of the acne I got these past week, apparently kelp can cause acne.
