Anyone grow... mushrooms?

I'm going to be starting mushrooms soon. any other raw foodies grow their own shrooms? I ordered a cubensis syringe this morning and am going to home depot/walmart later today to get my supplies.

I lived with a guy who grew them. As long as you keep a very sterile environment then it is actually quite easy to do. I didn't do the growing so I don't have any tips. Good Luck!:D

I grew them once from a kit. They were ready sooner than I expected and I had far too many at once. The thing looked nasty too.

There are only a couple of mushrooms I can grow in Florida. Shitake being one. Good use for my oak trees. They grow in oak logs. However, I am too bush weeding the garden and growing food to go around chopping down oak trees for mushrooms. Maybe later in my life when I retire.

I grew that species back when I was in college. Suggest making a liquid culture using karo, and then inoculating bags of sterilized Rye Grain.

Jars are huge PITA for the yeild....

Also, be careful, that species comes with a hefty jail term if caught.
