Hi Everyone~

I'm a middle aged woman who has come to the point where most everything I was eating has given me either an allergic reaction or sensitivity of some kind. Fasting isn't working, and I am actually gaining weight. I am about 50 pounds overweight.I tried to go vegetarian in my 20's but got very sick as I was allergic to about 85% of what I was eating.

I am committed to going raw, and need to do it in graduations, as I am including my two nearly adult children (who need to go raw too)~ they will go along for the ride because I am not cooking three separate meals each time. It's all for our health, as my DD has acne issues and is open to raw, and DS needs to absorb more nutrients as he is very underweight. He wants more green vegetables to build muscles... he also has multiple food allergies like me, we share many other physical ailments like chronic fatigue, brain fog, muscle pain and tender points. There are other diagnoses between the both of us we could keep a medical school very busy, but in my opinion, the more I go to the doctor, I feel worse being on all the drugs and spending so much time in waiting rooms can make us sicker. I only agree to take what's totally absolutely necessary, after a lot of thought and research. (I have a medical background)

We are in the process of purging our cupboards and bodies of processed foods and foods with hormones, pesticides, MSG, nitrites, corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, free glutamate acids, soy... had to educate the kids about what eating these things are doing to our bodies. We have a limited budget, as two of us are on disability, and my DD still is in high school, so this will be a work in progress.

I already am inspired by looking around this site. :)

Hi!

I have food allergies also, and going raw definitely helps so much with health issues like ya'll are having. My fatigue disappears within about 3 days of being 100% raw.

If you can afford it, I would recommend vegan enzyme supplements when you eat raw nuts & seeds, to help digest the protein so that you don't become sensitive to them, and definitely soak them over night (you can dehydrate them to make them crispy or use them wet) to deactivate the enzyme inhibitors (nuts' & seeds' natural defenses). Also, probiotics, if you aren't already taking them, really help with the leaky gut (the cause of multiple food allergies & symptoms) issues. I've had a lot of experience with this & done a lot of research, so I wish you the best of luck!!!

Best Wishes,

Michele

Thank you for your welcomes~!

Michelle, love the probiotics that really help me first thing in the morning. As for the allergies, I have to stay completely away from them right now ( spring is the start of outdoor plant allergies that coincide some foods- like bananas). Things get worse if I eat them raw- and cause so much abdominal pain and trips to the ER, not to mention the asthma and illness afterwards from the histamine reactions. I will just not eat them...sometimes I plain forget and suffer especially if I am eating away from home.

I know that as my immune systems improves that maybe I can start eating some- there are so many between my son and I and I am working on a list of what we can eat and try to supplement nutrients we can't get with food.

I know I will benefit from you and others and their research and experiences. I have researched quite a bit myself but am not with my computer- and my short term memory is very much in need of improvement- another reason why I am going drastically healthy to see if I can get my brain back ;)

Welcome Laureli. I love probiotics too. You may benefit from the digestive enzymes Rawbabymama mentioned as they can be quite helpful especially when becoming raw and eliminating food allergies and issues.

Greetings,

Welcome to the raw world.

Wow it sounds like you are imbarking on a deep cleansing journey. We are lucky to have this wonderful community to share and experience the wisdom of the journey. A big thanks to Alissa for doing this. I am grateful!

Like you some of the challenges you mentionsed here I could say "ditto. "
I am have presented with challenges such as allergies, high blood pressure (now normal) and low energyetc.

I did some work with Donna Edens energy medicine techniques and found great relief and increase in energy...also with changing the diet... over time in the transition phase giving up soy, wheat, eggs, strawberries and tomatoes
I noticed an energy increase right away a deep sense of peace and centerness.

I have been breaking out around the eyes in a rash with even the subltliest
changes in foods for years. (In Donna's book and video she teaches you how to energy test foods etc. ) It seems to help alot... my rash is healing and is a reflection of years of meat and toxins emotions cleaning out. A cry for help! Just today the rash around my eyes have been almost clear.. first time in 5+ years. Yeah!

Hang in there...as we know we did not get here over night and it takes time
to clear out, clean and revibrate the body. The body has the wisdom and intelligence with the right ingredients to know what to do and how to do this.
We must trust this intelligence that resides within.

Much love and healing to you on your journey, Solflower:o
