Today I saw the funniest thing. A billboard sign on the major highway into Hartford CT...they are all lit up now and digital.
It flashed an ad that said "come on in for a colonoscopy today" and as I was driving it changed to an ad for Dunkin Donuts.
I was so happy I am raw.
I thought that was the funniest thing ever. Do you?

That is funny but I'm wondering also if it's not with purpose. Commercials for meds on tv are usually surrounded with junk food ads. Ever notice that?
As in... "If we keep people eating garbage, they'll keep needing our meds."
Yep, I'm glad we're raw and that we see clear through the insanity.
feel so sorry for people that are taken by it.

Funny. I love your ladybugs.
I was telling someone I was getting my first colonic. They acted like I said something incred personal. Yet we go down a major highway and see a colonoscopy ad. I am proud of preventative colon care so I hopefully will not need a scope in thayah.
So no dunkin for me.hahahaha I say STIIICCCKYYYYYYY

Yeah I noticed that too. I have a colonic scheduled this Tuesday and I am actually really excited about it. I think it is going to help flush out not only some physical matter, but emotional as well. I tried explaining this to a co-worker and they looked at me like I was talking about something dirty.

They just want you to see what all those Gooey doughnuts have done to your Colon and they are probably still there.

Haha... that IS funny!
I told my MIL that I wanted a colonic for my birthday and she said, "no thanks, I'll just stick to my semi-annual colonoscopy." So, it's better to drink some god-awful tasting liquid and sit on the toilet for 12 hrs. prior only to follow it up with someone basically giving you a rufie so they can shove a scope up your butt. However, it's awkward to take control of your healthy by laying peacefully on a table while someone irrigates your insides with temperature controlled water? ::sigh:: I just don't get people's mindset's sometimes.

Chris...ditto that comment. Thats exactly what I thought. When someone is going for a dope n scope(haha) you hear about the gross stuff to drink, lots of it. and all the hours of running to the bathroom, not to mention the trauma to the body of the procedure, then the after affects of it all.
My mom just had her last one. She was too old to even be required for it but the family pressure got to her. So she suffered through it.
My first colonic was a few months ago. It went well. Yes a simple, quiet, calm procedure with very little discomfort. Without all that stuff.
Preventative is so much nicer. People wait til they are in bad shape and then take drastic measures.
We take preventative road and it only appears drastic...haha. Which is more drastic..all the medical protocol or eating yummy, raw living foods.ooo la la

That is really funny! It all goes hand in hand, the donuts and the colonoscopy! I'd much prefer a peaceful colon cleanse or colonic, before things get crazy. :)

Me too. Today I heard a guy say, "once you are over 50 its all downhill from there".
It so funny to be so aware of these things and hear the people say them and have a whole new perspective.
I personally have gotten younger and look forward to doing that for a very long time. Must be the colonics.

That would have given me a chuckle. What is not so funny is they are making so much money playing on people's fear that they can advertise. Good Grief! It was only a matter of time before this type of service popped up. Over a year ago I looked into getting colonoscopys for me and my husband because we are over 50 and the doctor said we should. There were no appointments available for almost two months. The cost was $3,000 each. Since we have a $2,500 deductible on our insurance we would pay $5,000 to have this procedure done every two years just because we have reached a certain age. I don't think so.
