Hello everyone,
I have read four seperate books on becoming RAW and have found athough they have common threads, some authors still cook some of their foods and also eat soy products (ie. tofu). I'm unclear how to be 100% RAW and what is eaten in a typical day (other than salads and sprouted beans). Please help me, I really want to eat RAW and be healthier and loose weight. I have 30 pounds I would like to loose. Eating beans and grains (cooked) have always messed up my internal system, by eating them sprouted would this do the same thing? Please advise on a sample diet menu for a day to get me started. I own a food processor, blender, grain grinder, sprouter, and citrus juicer.
Thank you so much for your help. By the way, does anyone know of any RAW classes I could attend in the Chico, CA. area?

The best way to start is a green smoothy for breakfast. This morning mine was kale, spinach, one banana, one mango, some crushed flaxseeds and some flaxseed oil. You should buy a dehydrator and make up nice cookies and crackers and have them handy. You cane buy them fairly cheap. Have a salad every day. I also make up a large bowl of fresh fruit salad every day and share it with my husband. You did not say that you have a juicer but I also make some fresh juice every day. Today was carrot, celery, pinaple and ginger. If I want something else then I fall back on my store of cookies

Hello LindaMandy and welcome to the forum.
A wonderful place to start is with Alissa's book, Living on Live Food.
It is full of all kinds of recipes, tons really. And also a menu plan, shopping list, testimonials, a sample of someones daily raw journal, and so much more.

She also has a dvd that shows you how to make a bunch of yummy recipes.

Also, on this forum, you can go to the 30 day raw challenge gallery and read through peoples journals. There are hundreds. Most list what people eat everyday. This is a great creative inspiration.

The raw recipe section here is loaded with everything from recipes, reviews of recipes, pictures of what people have made, etc. Another good place to start.

I do recall reading that sprouted grains (raw) are far easier to digest than cooked, processed grains. But that is something you're own body will have to tell you. Mine loudly screamed NO, but lots of other peoples have no problem.

There is so much more to eat than salad....pies and cakes and cookies, ice cream, , smoothies, spreads, breads, raw pesto, raw meatloaf, raw burgers, raw pasta and marinara, raw chili, raw stirfry, raw sandwiches, grawnola and almond milk, raw fudge, raw crepes, and on and on and on!

Hopefully something here will help you get started.
My very best wishes to you as you explore raw foods.

Warmly~
