I have a friend who drinks Rejuvelac daily and swears by it. I just made up my first batch and can't wait to try it.

Does anyone else drink it and what effects have you noticed?

Thanks.

LOL, well she does say it gives her a buzz, so I would not be surprised if she were doing some real swearing. LOL

My batch will be ready on Sunday and I'll let you know how it turns out. I can tell it is going to be super good for me.

I make it and its smell is a little hard for me to drinK straight, but I use it in place of water for green smoothies and other recipes. Ann Wigmore swore by it, and she was such a healthy lady who healed herself of colon cancer. That is good enough for me.

You'll find there are those who praise its benefits and others feel it isn't beneficial and that the culture can go bad. Over half of my raw food books have recipes for it.

Just pay attention to the smell.

I'm making my second batch.
No, I don't drink it... it's an ingredient for a cashew cheeze recipe I found online that is awesome! :p
The "leftovers" I did use in a smoothie...

My friend said the smell was bad, but she drinks it and it has done wonders for her health. I'll just hold my nose and get it down.

It's a fermented drink made with sprouted wheatberries.

It doesn't smell too bad. I have mixed a little fresh squeezed orange juice in it and that helps mask the smell. People have recommended using lemon to improve the taste, but that doesn't work for me. When I use it in green smoothies and other drinks or recipes, I can't really taste it.

To me, it kind of smells faintly like feet.

How does rejuvelac compare to kombucha?

I can't wait until it is done so I can judge for myself. I'm going to make it a daily drink. My friend says it smells bad, but it does not taste that bad.

How does rejuvelac compare to kombucha?

I'm not sure. They are both a fermentation process so I think they do sort of the same thing, but maybe someone with more knowledge would know.

No, I don't think so. It's a bit sour, like a cross between vinegar and lemon. Not bitter, and not bad sour. It's not a strong smell, either.

I drank rejuvelac every day for a long time - I find it somehow invigorating. I stopped making it for some reason or other...but I think I'll it start again - thanks for the reminder!

Your welcome Lenvau. I can't wait until Sunday to taste my first batch. I must say, I am a tad bit nervous.

Just wanted to say that I had my first glass of Rejuvelac this morning and my friend was correct. I felt like I was flying. I put it in my green smoothie and drank some straight. The taste is not bad at all. It definitely smells worse than it tastes. I also put some in my soup and I have been flying all day. It is incredible!!!!!!! I have my next batch of wheat berries sprouting now. I will drink this all the time.

Yes, the smell is not too good but the benefits far outweigh the smell. I literally felt like I was high.

Yes, this is a healthly high Veronica. I got the same feeling the other day when I ate some food with Kelp in it. Like I was flying. Love being Raw.

Is it alcoholic or something like that? What causes the buzz?

I think it is the fermentation process. I get the same feeling when I drink Kobucha.

I started drinking rejuvelac in my smoothies and really like how it makes me feel. I have more energy and get more things done. I was wondering if anyone knows why you should throw the wheat sprouts out after the second batch? Is there any reason not to eat them?

I think each batch gets weaker and weaker as far as the benefits from rejuvelac go. I throw mine out after the 3rd batch.

I think kombucha might have more of a "punch" to it nutrient wise. I like kombucha. The rejuvelac I make has a mild taste. Kind of yeasty in a way. After drinking kombucha, I do not think anything tastes bad anymore! But I now love kombucha.
