i would think it just takes time for your body to get more efficient at eliminating waste. drinking lots of water upon rising would also help to get things moving.

The only time i do is when i have had a really big supper the night before and it moves everything from lunch and breakfast along in the morning.

Also i read its more detrimental to do weekly 1 day water fasts as it confuses your body and metabolic rate. It was suggested to do 3 days at minimum or do a juice fast once a week instead.

I usually do a few minutes of rebounding (jumping on a mini trampoline) first thing in the morning. It gets my blood pumping, wakes me up, and coincidentally gets things moving. You can get a rebounder for pretty cheap, but you can also just jump on the bed :D

Warm water with a lemon squeezed in. Drink as soon as you rise in the AM.
