Hi,
I have been reading several raw food books. All of them have different variations of food combining. Some say eventually you don't need to worry about it and some say you will get so clean that you have to worry about it. I'm wondering how vital it is and if not doing it prevents you from getting all the benefits? Please share your thoughts!! :)
In joy,
Julie

I"m no expert by any means. But, my understanding is that Food Combining is Vital of Optimal Digestion.

this is how i see it.
if you are having digestive problems, you may want to look into it.
if you feel fine with the way you are eating, it is not a problem.
we learn the optimal food combining theories for our own systems as we go along.

i find im more regular if i don't food combine. I only eat fruit for breakfast and lunch and then dinner i try to have greens and fruit or greens and fat. Sometimes when i have dessert with fruit in it its hard to digest after the fat.
I don't think you have to be a stickler, but if you're starting off then you want to get your body digesting well without bogging it down with tongs of combinations.

To answer the previous question, I found the info in lots of books.
examples are:
The Raw Food Detox Diet
Counscious Eating
Sunfood Diet Success System
The Miracle of Raw Foods
Some say do combine, some say don't. It's so confusing! I guess it's very individual...

Though I try not to eat melon with anything as that's probably the worst culprit for anything, and I do vaguely avoid eating fruit after a savoury meal as they are digested at different rates, but it's no big deal for me.

Thanks, I've read the Raw Food Detox Diet, and have been following her program...I find that I feel great when doing it this way....as for the other books, I haven't read them, but they are now on my list of books to get...thanks!

I usually only have issues with raw desserts with fruit and fat. I have to be sure to eat them alone and give them plenty of time to digest.

That's good that it worked for you! I tried her program for about a year and it really didn't work for me. Following a more liberal, smoothie oriented plan is great!! I still incorporate the colonics for sure, though. Good luck with the books!
