I have been vegan, mostly raw, since 1969, when I was 30 years old. I started with a 21 day fast, which I regret. It left me permanently hypersensitive to stimuli such as noise.

In 1985 I got into serious trouble taking vitamin and mineral supplements. They created a mineral imbalance, resulting in metabolic arthritis—paralysis in both legs. I stopped all supplements cold turkey and made a full recovery.

In 1993, my B12 tested low. Since then I get an annual B12 shot.

In 2002, chest pains. Eliminating all salt solved that problem. The following year, an iodine deficiency. Seaweed solved that problem.

In 2008, bad lipid profile. Cholesterol and triglycerides too high. Eliminated all starchy foods.

Currently battling prostate cancer, I am back to 100% raw.

Getting alkaline with juices makes sense, but would be very difficult where I live, as I have no garden or refrigerator. I make only one town trip per week. Most greens wilt in about 24 hours.

you could get wheat seed very cheap and grow it in anything from plastic dish pans to buckets to in any open ground . ann wigmore healed thousands with the very alkalizing wheat grass juice . if never have heard of do a search for ann wigmore to see her center and its philosophy

lemons are also alkalizing though youd think not by their asorbic acid .
thusly a constanly flow of ice water with a bunch o lemon squeezed in may be beneficial

Good Idea, Michigan. I will get some lemons and a juicer. I had a friend who ODed on lemons. They destroyed his taste buds. But I won't OD. Are lemon seeds good to eat?

I've kept greens quite well in an insulated cooler, after washing them and putting them in Green Bags. In fact, some greens I just plunked in the cooler when I got home, and didn't bother to wash for a few days!

If you keep them damp, wrapped in a paper towel or such, and in a cool place, they should keep for at least 4 days.

You can also look into getting some powdered greens.
