Wonder if others have difficulty with this? Seems I desire this more than anything right now. I can easily drink 3 bottles a day and sometimes go out of my way to obtain it.

Their website indicates: Moderation is key with anything in life. Your body needs nutrition from a broad variety of foods. Therefore you do not want to drink Kombucha excessively. Most people drink about one 16 ounce bottle a day, 8 ounces in the morning and 8 ounces in the early afternoon. The best thing to do is to listen to your body to determine what amount is suitable for you.

I am not sure of much percentage of it is truly Raw as well. See image on their website.

Boy! you need to start making your own.
I want to start making some too, but I dont know anyone with a Kombucha baby. The bottle stuff is really expensive ( I like to think of it as my raw food Starbucks 4 $ per drink). I dont know how you can drink that much, I love it but one bottle makes me feel a bit quessy and a little nausaus. Any it is a bit achololic so I wouldn't drink more than one, and try and find someone that can give you a baby so you dont end up paying alot.

OMG! I am totally addicted to it!!! I go out of my way to get it too!!! Grape and greens are the best. The bottle is so awesome, too haha. I talked to the company and they said its best to do one a day, but 3 a day is max. I wonder if it will taste the same home made...

It is all over youtube how to make it. Cleanliness is key of course. Check it out. I saw on there using a bottle of plain, unflavored komb will start a new batch and make new babies.

I like komb.

I find it alcohol in nature too. I can only have four or so ounces a day. I do not have it every day. I drink it in spurts. It has an alcohol affect almost as well. Also like soda with its fizziness.

I understand people have turned diseases around with the use of it daily. Benefical enzymes and probiotics.Others say nay to it. All up to you. I find it beneficial for me. And yummy.

A friend used to make it and had large jars in fridge at all times...wooohooo.

Oh and the fizz! One day I put it in a wine type glass that was cone shape. I put it up to the light. The bubbles were going in a vicious circle up and back down. It was the coolest thing.(it was a pink kind).

Another day, one exploded kind of as I was opening it, as they are known to do. It went all over me , the counter, the floor, everywhere. What a mess.! I laughed and laughed.

One more tiny note on komb. My heart is in Colorado(might move there again soon) and the "High Country" komb made in Eagle Colorado lights me up like no other. The picture on the front is of the Colorado mountains too.ahhhhh

WOW that stuff looks goooood...Though I'm assuming you need a juicer to make a knockoff? Something I lack and can't afford at the moment :(
Also, it appears it isn't sold it Canada at all. Shame.

"You don't need a mushroom to start, just a bottle of good kombucha from the store, like GT Dave's, which I used because I love it and now mine tastes like it (before I used a mail-order mushroom and it wasn't as tasty). Take the whole bottle and dump it into your sweet tea, once it has cooled. Make sure to make your tea in stainless steel and store in glass only. Cover your fermentation jar with a tea towel and rubber band to keep out dust, etc and allow air flow."

There ya go :)

Rawkin,

I live in Montreal and have never had any trouble getting my hands on a kombucha culture anytime I looked for one. There are many people having their own cultures at home and as new ones are constantly created as you brew new batches, you can often find someone to spare one. Just try asking around in bio/health conscious circles.

If you'd rather go for the quick route and have a few bucks to spare, the first culture I got was from ebay. I'd gladly ship you one, unfortunately I have to get a new culture myself and start brewing kombucha again after I fly back from the Philippines this week. But feel free to hit me up later if you have no luck getting your own culture!

But really, you don't need a juicer or anything complicated to brew your own. Plus, it's much less expensive and more fun to brew your own at home. All you need is a Kombucha culture, tea, a source of sugar that the culture will feed on, a glass jar, filter, and much love for your culture :)

Also check out Water Kefir grains - I love making kefir juices!

i get addicted to it, too. =(

i don't think it's good to feel addicted to something. i don't understand why i do. it's difficult to drink these drinks in moderation for me.

they just made three new flavors. two of them are like, flower flavors, and one is superfruits or super foods or something.. i don't remember.

i try to stay away because i don't like to feel addicted, but at the same time i like to get it every once in a while.
