Hello, My name is Crystal. I am American, but currently living in Amsterdam. I was feeling very sick for the past 3 months, just a lot of fatigue and brain fog. So, I decided to try eating raw. It is really helping so far. I've only been doing it for a few weeks, but I can tell a big difference. I'm not "jumping off the walls" with energy, but I don't feel like I can't move off the couch either.

Also, every time when I have cheated and eaten processed food, I feel like total crap again, so I know where the culprit is coming from.

I have an underactive thyroid and was very close to being diagnosed with either Rhuematoid Arthritis or Lupus, but my rhuemy never figured out what it was before it went away :) When I because pregnant with my (now 3 yrs old) son, it went into remission and I haven't had problems since until a few months ago. I am not going to let it take my life away this time, as my son is too important to me.

I'm so glad to find this. Wish me luck!

Edited to add: I forgot to add that I also had blood in my stool after starting the diet. Has anyone had this too?

Hi :) I'm new to the raw lifestyle as well, and I also noticed improvements in my overall well being after a very short time. No idea about the blood in stool as I haven't experienced that from raw food; maybe someone else has info on it. Just wanted to say hi and welcome!

Blood in stool? Bright red is sometimes hemmoroid blood tinge. Is it alot or a bit up the side of the stool? Dark blood indicates deeper issues.

Also did you eat beets. That can make it appear that way.

If its not hemmoroid related, I would ask my naturopath and she would know if it is serious and needed attention. I would then do what she says. Thats just how I would handle it.

Raw might clear it up with time.

Hello and welcome to raw!! WOW what took you to Amsterdam? I love America but am thinking more and more of moving to another country. I live in NJ and it's just so unbelievably expensive and congested. Although it's considered the garden state there aren't many raw foodists here :(

I too was going to ask if you had juiced beets...as that does make stool red and many people that have not done beets in past have tendency to not know this.

Anyway as you progress on your raw path I'm sure your health will improve greatly...but be patient because change takes time. I think you will be pleasantly surprised how fast raw does heal you!!
