..but I am not...really.
My name is Christina, I currently live in San Juan Capistrano, CA (southern Orange County), and I turned the BIG THREE ZERO last November. I have been a member of this community for a couple years but I seriously just keep falling off the wagon. So, here's to new starts!
I have been vegetarian since I was in my early teens and vegan on and off. The idea of eating totally raw is not new or weird to me. My late husband was very into the raw food diet and would fluctuate from being raw to about 70% and always 100% vegan. I, however, have always..well..lacked discipline. I am a total seeker of comfort and I avoid being uncomfortable at all costs which has included avoiding giving up my favorites sweets and breads (especially breads. MAN, have I been in love with the breads!). While I have been able to eat 100% raw for a bout a week I usually give up at that point. It isn't that I lack knowledge, equipment or raw food "cook"books. I have it all. I think I tend to use the excuse that I just don't feel as full on raw foods. I have made so many good things from Alissa's book, as well as other books I own, and I just can't seem to stick to it! I have come to realize that the feeling of being full on raw food vs. cooked food is my biggest obstacle. So this is what I am trying to overcome! I hope I am not the only one with this problem! Any ideas and recipes for breaking past this "full feeling" obstacle is welcome!!!
The things I would like to achieve with a raw food diet is 1) increased energy, 2) significant weight loss and 3) mental clarity. I am glad to be back on this website and hopefully I can meet some new people with similar interests. So, theres my new intro...HELLO!!
