Can anyone point one out for me? I have no idea what to look for in a juicer. I'd prefer under $75 if at all possible.

ive never used one , but ive looked over the construction and like the stainless steel waring brand juicer that sells at bed, bathandbeyond , plus at lowes for around 65 . and bedbathbeyond always mails out that 20% off coupon . ide look at some reveiws at amazon.com and search here on waring juicers plus post a thread asking if anyone ever had one . i'll bring back a link to one

* remember ive never used one , im just saying its well built .

so should seek out opinions on it .

i can say one negative though is the feed shute at top where you feed stuff into it is small , that means you have to cut up your produce smaller so more work . but with the cheaper / less powerful juicers that might be a good thing because youll be less apt to put too big of peices into shute which would bog it down and over work / burn up the motor

and you can also juice in a blender by adding a few cup o water then the produce , then strain thru a fine metal mesh kitchen strainer . if have blender ide experiment with that method before spending money on juicer . ive done it many times and the upside is cleaning a blender is alot easier . the down side is with some produce the blender method makes them kind of too airated . its something youd have to try for self because many people juice with blenders and like it . at i think www.juicefeasting.com they juice with blenders and recomend it in a video
and the member here eternity rider made a great thread amassing all juicer threads if want to really read up on it , link

I have never seen small appliances at our thrift shops. In fact I gave up on ours. They are outrageously expensive. They wanted $10 for a denim jumper that had all the buttons ripped out, and $3 for a cheap T shirt that some kid had stuck foamy stickers all over it.

Oh I thought the Jack LaLane or however you spell it was supposed to be a little wasteful with the veggies? I ordered from amazon, $70 with free shipping Hamilton Beach 67650 Big Mouth Pro Juice Extractor. It's awesome!!! It's pretty good for the green juices but think you need a super pricey one to really get alot out of them. I like green smoothies for the greens though. This juicer is really good though, and easy to clean if you do it right away.

I like the Jack LaLanne. There is very little waste and a lot of juice. It does greens, too.
I used a Juiceman years ago, eventually I wore it out putting in too much kale at a time. My friend found one exactly like it at a yard sale. It was priced at $25. She offered them $10 and walked away with it. Lucky her. I don't think she has ever driven past a yard sale.

they have that magic bullet juicer for 99.00 & you get 2 of them if you pay the shipping on the other one. i have one of those. i haven't tried to juice anything in it, yet, but i will try & let you know how it goes. it does an okay job at chopping stuff, but it's not great. i got it as a gift from my grandmother a year or so ago & i do use it quite a bit. it's definitely not the best, but it gets the job done (as far as blending goes).. i'll try the juicer attachment.
