Hey Jeanie!
I too am waiting in limbo land...glad you've made it to the "other side"!!!
How much greens are you smoothy-ing?
I've added green smoothies in also - if anything - I'm feeling less energetic.
I'm smoothy-ing about 3 large leaves in the morning (kale, red chard, or equivalent size of dandelion greens) - fills the blender up to about 3-4 cups - but they aren't chopped.
Eat about 3-4 cups of finely chopped greens throughout the day in addition. 5-6 if you count lettuces.
No goodies yet!
Share more details of your breakthrough! PLZ!

I so understand you. I can't beleive how long i was myself using a regular blender. Raw food is so much easier with this blender. Just love it.

yeah I thought the magic bullet was cool........
for details...I of course had felt all of the many other awesome benefits of raw for all this time but the details of last week are this. I did a 5 day gs feast of about a 1/2 gallon to a gallon of smoothie per day and even some bottled organic carrot juice in a pinch one day...not typical for me at all
then over the weekend added in other foods etc and some fats but what i am mostly noticing is my body's sense of "fullness" and contentment. I feel nourished and calm and energetic and have less worry about food
i think for me the blended component is a factor...the digestive system is at total peace but i am not "fasting"
cheers everyone and thanks for everything

If your interested in hearing from the expert on green smoothies, Victoria Boutenko and her daughter Valya are doing a 3 hours presentation titled "Green Smoothie Revolution" on April 9 in Redmond at Raw Vegan Source. I think that is the title of her latest book. Tickets are $25. I'll be there with my daughter. :)

I know...Amazing, right?
Four or five years ago, my grandmother was walking through Sam's Club, I think, and got "sucked into" buying this blender. She is the kind that easily is persuaded into buying anything from an infomercial or anybody demonstrating anything at a store.
She invites me over one day and asks me if I will take it home, because it's been sitting in her pantry cupboard unopened and if my grandfather finds out she purchased another useless item...
I take it home and proceed to store it away in MY pantry...until I discovered raw about two years ago...
I go downstairs out of curiosity and check out that blender...IT WAS A VITAMIX!!!
I have used it just about every single day for two years now...it runs like a champ...easy to clean...it's the best investment I never made...
Woo Hoo!!:D

I absolutely love my Vitamix. I had mine stored in my pantry, I actually inherited it when I sold my coffee shop several years ago. When I decided to go raw I retreived it from the pantry, ordered a couple parts and it runs like new! This Vitamix is so awesome I think I could retire my Champion juicer to free up some counter space.

Green Jeannie- Congrats! I've been a doing almost a quart of GS a day and I love it. I know you avoid too much fruit (or, you did, I don't know ), I'm wondering if you can share some of your GS recipes?

hi everchanging
no real recipes....it is a surprise every time!!!!
this morning i did rasberries, nettles and vitamineral green and for lunch i have dandelion greens, chard, celery and red bell pepps....i didn't taste that one we'll see
dandelions and nettles were foraged ;)
i keep meaning to get some good basic recipes down that i love but i tend to be more spontaneous with whatever is in the fridge
i really like how celery blends especially with bananas and hemp seeds
i have been keeping my sweet fruit down to once or twice a day but have been making one dessert on the weekends
and have recently been keeping my fats down to 10-20% which feels totally awesome!!!:D......usually just a handful of nuts / seeds in the a.m. or a splash of flax oil here and there....again, a dessert on the weekends mostly for the fun of cooking a recipe to share
