Last night I was so disappointed. I made a new recipe that looked so good and it turned out horribly. I threw it out and then started to worry about the money I was spending since I am unemployed at the moment.
Before bed I made up Alissa's Almond Balls and ate a little of that and when I woke up this morning I was committed all over again. I found two more recipes to try out and I'm feeling much better again about staying on my Raw journey.
This is my Raw journey and I'm trying to honor it.
Thanks for listening all.

Just keep trying new combos! I have lovingly prepared some total flops! My first batch of flax crackers turned out good, second merely ok, third batch was fabulous, and the fourth sucked. I have stuck with the third recipe version since!
I also added waaaaay too much salt to rawviolis the first time. Blech!
Look at the expirimentation as a fun exercise :)

sorry your recipe didnt turn out. for me it has been hit and miss and i have NOT gone nuts with elaborate recipes for that reason and $...
i think simpler stuff has a lower chance of not turning out (like the almond balls--i have not tried to make them!) and are less expensive to make.
dont give up!! you will find some recipes that turn out and then become staples for you.

Welcome to Raw and the new Experimentation of Trial and Error! ;) I'm with Jen - work on less expensive recipes while you are finding your new taste buds. It takes awhile for that.
Have Fun!

That's exactly what I've been doing! I'm afraid of wasting food, so I definitely cut it in half. Today, I took a recipe and cut it all down to 1/4 of the ingredients.

I get annoyed when I don't like recipes. Not so much from the money aspect but the time wasted, especially if I had to hunt down an ingredient I didn't already have in the house.
If money were tight, I would not experiment with recipes, other than perhaps to try to find a way to use up what I have in the house that is about to go bad. Then if I didn't like it, it wouldn't matter so much because it would probably be thrown out anyway.

The cool thing about raw is that almost anything you make can been thrown into a green smoothie, diluted into a dressing, mixed into a cracker dough for dehydration, if it's a flop.
GOOD LUCK!

Why are you doing this?
Because nothing can compare to feeling healthy and vibrant, not even being employed. :D
I LOVE LifeAgift's idea of incorporating any "leftovers" or food "flops" into a green smoothie! Brilliant! It's all fresh living food...it's all good!
