Hi Guys,
After a beautiful 70 days of Raw i have been away for a while (a few months!) and quite frankly fell off the wagon - HARD! My body misses it as does my taste buds. I had planned on building myself back up gradually but have an opportunity to buy some fruits & veg wholesale and think this may be my time to plunge right in!
I want to have smoothies for the majority of my day with one chewable meal (either lunch or dinner).

My questions are these: 1. Due to the quantity i will have to purchase i obviously don't want them to spoil. Can i safely peel & freeze oranges for smoothies? How about apples or pineapple? Will they turn/taste funny from the cold?

2. Will too much of the above fruit be problematic for me? (too much citrus, etc)

Your answers are greatly anticipated and welcomed.

Frozen stuff doesn't taste as good as the fresh fruit to me. Too much? There are so many other things,-just keep it balanced and enjoy :)

i buy frozen pineapple, mango and strawberries at the store all the time for smoothies. I don't know about oranges. I freeze my own bananas too

The oranges you could juice and freeze the juice maybe?

you can def freeze pineapple.
i would blend up your apples to make applesauce and then freeze.
i've never frozen oranges--but freezing the juice sounds like a good idea as veganforlife says.

be sure to thoroughly rinse your mouth after eating citrus. a few months back i was eating upwards of half of my calories from oranges and clementines. unfortunately i wasn't thinking about my teeth and i didn't rinse with water after eating and would sometimes draw out my meals--meaning my teeth were covered in citrus for too much time. needless to say, i now have notches in 3 teeth right near the gumline. but as long as you take care of your teeth i can't see any reason that there would be a problem eating lots of citrus, etc.

welcome back to raw!

Freezing is not bad, but I recently read that freezing destorys like 60% of enzymes. I was curious about that, so I thought I'd share!
