I made this for dinner – I wanted something w/o nuts.

Vegetable Wraps (or crackers)

½ c tomato
½ orange, peeled
¼ c onion, diced
4-6 ribs celery, cut up
1 clove garlic
½ t. crushed rosemary
1/3 c parsley
¼ - ½ c raw wheat germ
1 t. sea salt (adjust to taste)
1 c carrot pulp

Blend all ingredients except for the carrot pulp in FP until well combined.
Transfer to mixing bowl and add carrot pulp: combine.
Spread on non-stick sheets on top of mesh screens and dehydrate until flexible. Flip onto mesh tray after 4 hours or so.

Asparagus Pesto

1 ½ c diced asparagus
¼ c olive oil
2 cloves garlic
2-3 TB nutritional yeast

Blend asparagus, nutritional yeast, and garlic.
Slowly add olive oil; blend well.
Transfer to bowl and refrigerate until cold.

what is the wheat germ for and where would you get it?

I use raw wheat germ (http://flaxfood.com/wheatfood/wgerm.htm) in some recipes because I can't use flax and also for the nutrients it has. I get mine from a local health food store.

Oh so are you allergic to flax? Could ground flax be substituted instead? I try to stay away from any wheat, my sisters are allergic.

I'm allergic to it and most recently found out I can't tolerate chia seeds either. I don't know how flax would alter it. Maybe someone with more knowledge will chime in. I would think the flax would bind it like the raw wg. Anyone?

i would love to try this recipe when i get a dehydrator. I used to love wraps, but eating the wheat always made me feel bad and guilty too. It'd be a nice treat once in a while to have a raw one.
