I've been thinking about and talking about trying raw for quite a long time. Today I finally started. My goal is 30 days. If I love it, which I hope, I will stick with it, if not, at least I TRIED and then I'll know.
Just got home from Whole Foods, never shopped there before but wow it's awesome! It took me a while to find stuff but mostly because I didn't know what some things would look like. I also got help from a worker there, which is hard to find in Albertson's. Although looking over my receipt they did double charge me for an item :( And I accidentally bought granny smith apples but that was my fault.
Anyway as soon as I got home I tried a sprouted bagel, something I was really excited about because I do love bagels and they looked really yummy. I was amazed. It was better than a regular bagel. I got Alvarado brand onion poppy bagels. YUM! I couldn't even wait for it to thaw all the way :)
I also tried the goji berries since the cashier made a comment they were bitter - but I thought they were yummy! I wanted more after I ate a few! Can't wait to try them with something.
I'm really feeling good about this, now to find the food processor I know we have and see if it will be of any use :)
Oh I also picked up a book, Ani's Raw Food Kitchen. B&N had quite a few raw books but this was the nicest one I felt I could afford, I really liked reading it so far.
I've posted a few times but just to remind you ;) I am Jesi, live in Texas with DH and my dog Sadie and two cats. The pets have been on a raw prey-model diet for almost a year. I initially looked into raw for me because I have fibromyalgia and I have heard it really helps with stuff like that. Also I want to be healthy (hopefully loose weight) and have more energy.
Thanks!!
