excited to go raw

Hi raw friends, I have been studying Alissa Cohen's book, Living On Raw Food. I have been drinking green smoothies for breakfast and I am surprised how much I really really like them. I recently purchased an excalibur dehydrator. I already had a vita mix blender and a champion juicer. I have looked at becoming raw for 2 years and I really feel that Alissa's book is the best one I have read about the process and that is probably why I feel this is the time to make the change. Many of her recipes sound good but it is all a bit overwhelming. I am hoping some of you may offer some insite on recipes that worked for you and others that didn't. I guess I thought with your help I could save some time and money. I am getting tired of just salads and I am really wanting to try some breads, crackers and any other entree you might suggest. Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jill

use the 4 week plan in her book. It's easy, a good introduction and you will have plenty of delicious food available for you to munch on to your hearts content.

I agree. I did that for a week or two until I got a handle on things. I got way too excited to make other recipes and I'm not one for structure so it didn't last long :D It was a good way to figure out how much food I would buy on average though.

Just make what you normally like to eat. You will make some Flukes but you will learn to eat them or add them to a Smoothie. I made lots of Crackers, Sweet ones and Savory ones. They were always handy. It took me a while to make Cheeze but that is one easy thing to make, Cheeze and Crackers. I have no problem eating just Salads and Fresh Fruit also Smoothies. I keep Nuts and Raisins handy. I just keep it Simple.
