That is very interesting. I don't believe in coincidences in life. Things happen for a reason...we may not know it right away, or may NEVER know it...
Love that about life!
Reading your post made me start singing (in my head):
"Ironic" by Alanis Morissette
An old man turned ninety-eight
He won the lottery and died the next day
It's a black fly in your Chardonnay
It's a death row pardon two minutes too late
And isn't it ironic... don't you think
It's like rain on your wedding day
It's a free ride when you've already paid
It's the good advice that you just didn't take
Who would've thought... it figures
Mr. Play It Safe was afraid to fly
He packed his suitcase and kissed his kids goodbye
He waited his whole damn life to take that flight
And as the plane crashed down he thought
"Well isn't this nice..."
And isn't it ironic... don't you think
It's like rain on your wedding day
It's a free ride when you've already paid
It's the good advice that you just didn't take
Who would've thought... it figures
Well life has a funny way of sneaking up on you
When you think everything's okay and everything's going right
And life has a funny way of helping you out when
You think everything's gone wrong and everything blows up
In your face
A traffic jam when you're already late
A no-smoking sign on your cigarette break
It's like ten thousand spoons when all you need is a knife
It's meeting the man of my dreams
And then meeting his beautiful wife
And isn't it ironic...don't you think
A little too ironic...and, yeah, I really do think...
It's like rain on your wedding day
It's a free ride when you've already paid
It's the good advice that you just didn't take
Who would've thought... it figures
Life has a funny way of sneaking up on you
Life has a funny, funny way of helping you out
Helping you out

I must tell you my Ironic story.
I went to Costa Rica with a friend. She had been there once before with a boyfriend but they had lost touch years ago.
During the stay she pointed out loads of places that she had been with "George".
We went back to San Jose the day before our flight home but the hotel that we wanted to stay in had no rooms so they recommended another. We checked in and went to our room and then went down to get a taxi to town. As we walked through the 10 feet space between the sets of double doors, there was George walking in. 10 seconds either way and we would have missed him.
I am still amazed at that one.

I don't believe in coincidence either. I'm still not clear on which way it happens. Do we perceive something coming and start thinking about it, or do we think about it and that facilitates it happening? Maybe it is a two-way street. Either way, no coincidence.
That's pretty cool you stunned Martha. I would have liked to see her face at that moment. :D

Growing up in Buffalo, I had a really good friend in high school. We had actually been in kindergarten together! After graduation, we went our separate ways. Bobbi joined the Army (during Viet Nam) and I went to work, got married, had children, etc. We completely lost touch with each other. When our high school class was planning our 10-year reunion (in 1976), I saw that Bobbi's address was right near my father, who lived in New Jersey!! I contacted her and we got together and we have been best friends forever ever since!! After her husband died, she moved back to Buffalo to be near her family, and we have now been friends for over 55 years!!! It's a small world!! One time I ran into another old friend from high school at Disney World!! If we had been in that line 10 minutes earlier or 10 minutes later, we wouldn't have run into each other - it was meant to be!! Sadly, that was the last time I ever saw her...she died a few years later of cancer. I'm always grateful for these wonderful "coincidences" in life!!:)

This is why am I very careful not to think too much about certain people. At my current weight, I don't want to be seen! That'd be a different kind of stunned. LOL I have had this happen and I SO do not want it to right now. :o
