Just had to share that I happened to be at the Cheesecake Factory twice this week and they made a great raw meal for me both times.

This is what I did: I ordered the Thai Lettuce wraps and replaced the chicken with avocado and the noodles with red and yellow peppers (I saw that they had peppers and avocado on other items in the menu). The dish is served with huge romaine and cabbage leaves, carrots, cucumbers, the above veggies, and mung sprouts...you just roll it all together and use the 3 dipping sauces. I'm not sure what the suaces have but by tasting they are very good and natural. There's a spicy oil, peanut sauce, and a sweet cilantro. I just skip on the peanut sauce.

Enjoy.

OMG!!! That is where me and my husband go a lot when he takes me "out" and I usually get one of the salads and "alter" them such as you have. I too replace the meat with avocado many times....they always charge me extra though, claiming that the avocado is a very hard item to come by. Ya, just shows how often they've been in the produce section of their market. As long as I can have it replaced.....it's all good. ;)

You are smart.actually in any eating place you can order raw food items. Just very careful examine menu. Even in places where is only cooked food (chinese for instance) I call chef and ask him what ingridients he has and tell him to make a salad out of them. Usuallu waiter is confused and do not know what to charge ,-))). They call manager or owner. Couple of time they charge me very low and one time I got complimentary ,-)))
In any case do not afraid to be different.
One time I had to go to Burger King with my son and asked them to give me plate just with letuce and tomatoes. You should see look on the kid's (at the counter) face. The problem was that they did not have a code to enter in the registry. I asked to charge me as a burger. And I had a meal ,-)))).

I am going to the Cheesecake Factory in Seattle this week (while I am enjoying Pike's Place Market!) and love this idea for ordering the Thai Lettuce Wraps. I will try it out, replacing the chicken with avocado and the noodles with tomato as I am not a big pepper eater.

Thanks for the idea and I'll report back on my experience!
