Hello everyone!

Someone mentioned that they would like to see more pregnant woman talking about being pregnant and eating raw so here it is.

I am 7 weeks pregnant, just getting into morning sickness and feelling icky. I was fasting when we conceived and found out that we were pregnant. I broke the fast great and then a few days ago went on a very unfortunate SAD binge that I am just recovering from. And recovering really is the appropriate word too. I feel hung over and very ill.

So I am drinking lemon water and plan on having some fresh OJ and possibly some coconut water as well later. I have plenty of raw foods to get me through, I just need to be able to stomach them. With my last pregancy I couldn't tolerate any raw food for the whole first trimester and I really don't want to go through that again.

So any other pregnant rawies out there? How are you doing?

Hi there! I'm 23 weeks pregnant with my first. Admittedly, when we conceived I was mostly high raw (70-90% on any given day) and was baking some vegan stuff and cooking vegan foods. During my first trimester I fell off the raw wagon and started eating cooked pastas and vegetarian foods with cheese and had a few eggs even (eek!). It was mostly due to being nauseous a lot of the time, and also this untrue belief I had that if I craved something I must need something in it. I started feeling really gross and breaking out with acne, as well as gaining weight I don't need to carry.

At 20 weeks I decided to go 100% raw again (or as a close as I could get) since I started to feel better. Then I came down with a bad virus for a week, and all I could eat was smoothies or juice, which ironically helped me get back in the groove. I'm anywhere from 90-100% raw everyday now, and I'm feeling a bit better, although I've already gained 15 lbs, most of which was gained before I went raw again (I was up 12 lbs by 18 weeks gestation). I'm trying to only gain what my body *needs*, but I have the tendency to gain weight anyway, so I have to watch it. My slower metabolism is the reason I went raw to begin with. I so want to be one of those women who just bounces back from pregnancy but I'm not sure if that will be the case....

Other than my food/weight concerns, the pregnancy is going really well, baby is healthy and my energy has gone way up again since I went raw and recovered from that virus. I've been taking a raw vegan protein powder supplement in my smoothies, as well as maca and hemp protein occasionally. It has helped me a lot with my energy also.

Good for you for being proactive and already getting back to raw at 7 weeks. I really wish I had been more raw in my 1st trimester as well as beginning of 2nd trimester. I think I could have staved off a lot of the cellulite I've already gained as a result of eating cooked vegetarian and dairy foods, and my energy would have been a lot better a lot sooner too.:)
