View Full Version : Hi everyone I'm Helen
Just thought I'd say a hello to everyone and introduce myself :) I live in Australia, I am new to raw food talk and have just started fully on raw food a few days ago. I have been a vegetarian for 5 years and built myself up to this stage. I ate just fruit in the morning for a few years, so it helped me build up to fully raw. I have a friend online who has been on raw for a month and has gone through 5 days of fever and illness. I suggested that this might be the detox of raw, is this common for raw foodists? Have any of you experienced this?
Looking forward to hearing more from you

I too am from Australia. I'm in Melbourne, where are you?
Many people experience detox, it's the body's way of beginning to get rid of all the crud we've been putting into our bodies for years. It can take a lot of forms however it seems common for the symptoms to be fever like, so your friend's ailment may well be detox.

Hi, Helz! Welcome to the board. Looking forward to hearing more from you and sharing your journey. All the best!
As for the fever: very normal. Fevers cause you to sweat more, and when you sweat you get nasty stuff out of your body even faster. Make sure you are getting plenty of water, and electrolytes. Coconut water is an excellent source of both!
