Hi, everyone, i am curious to know how much juice does your juicer juice from about 5 average carrots (some were big some small, so about 5 average sized carrots)

what type of juicer?
how much juice?

Omega 8005
a little less than 1 cup

*i put almost all the pulp through twice, but it only produced a little more juice.

do you put it through twice?

I am wondering if i should try to sell this and get a twin gear? maybe a greenstar?

Weigh your carrots and we will do this properly.
I will do it with my Green Star.
I do think that it will still not be scientific as I find that as the carrots get older they give less juice and our carrots will not be the same age.

I have the same juicer and get about the same amount of juice from carrots. I get frusterated because I feel like I should get way more juice! and then I feel bad for wasting all the pulp...I try and add the pulp into salsa, tomato sauce etc...but a lot still isnt used. I am curious too to see how much other types of juicers get out of the carrots....

Carrot pulp is awesome for breads and crackers.
That looks about like how much juice I would expect to get from that quantity of carrots in my Green Star, and it seems like plenty to me. :)

Oh, and my kids make carrot cake out of carrot pulp all the time! Yum yum!

Actually, the pulp from the carrots is nearly sawdust dry. I think there is very little waste, if any, of the actual carrotty goodness.

DH calls it premade compost

Interesting, as I think carrot pulp is still quite tasty and very versatile - and since it still has flavor and color, I figure there's got to be some nutrition left in there. I don't consider it waste or a byproduct at all. Hurrah for carrot pulp!
In any case, I mentioned it because kikilu seemed to be looking for more ways to utilize it:

I have a osterizer and get about 16-20fl. oz of carrot juice from 1-2 carrots. They are big carrots though.

Maybe about the size of 1/4 a bag of carrots you would get from a grocery store. :o

That is pretty much the results of my juicing. :)

Thank you everyone for responding!

sport- that is quite funny! an empirical gal myself, i would have loved to provide a weight but did not juice them for the sake of the poll, it was an afterthought. in addition, i didn't want to trouble anyone to actually pull out a scale, many people may not have one. For an actual experiment they should have all been weighed on the same scale, same limit on results, same carrots. But since now i have a gram weight to compare it to i will weight mine next time and report back :).

rftm0115- wowza! those must be huge carrots!! your osterizer is centrifugal, no? That is amazing!!!
