Autumn

Today I had what I consider an Optimal Performance Day. I woke up feeling wonderfully rested (on 5.5 hours sleep). Our temps here (with the heat index) have been 111-118 for the past 2 weeks so I was pleasantly suprised that they dipped to the high 90's today.
I desparately needed to do some yardwork and didn't feel like sitting down to a piece of watermelon, so I quickly juiced it, added crushed ice and made a watermelon slushy, which I sipped while I got my gloves and other tools ready. About 2 hours later I came back in for a big glass of water and another melon slushy. Early afternoon I had watermelon soup. Then I had a few carrot sticks and some OJ late afternoon. Supper was cucumber soup with thinly sliced cukes on top.
Between 10am and 6pm I was supercharged with energy, but not nervous or sugar-high energy-just nice, comfortable energy that allowed me to tackle hours of yardwork in high heat/humidity, repotting, replanting, washing the porch, trimming, fluffing, raking, watering, picking veggies, washing, drying and folding 6 load of laundry, an hour of paperwork, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning one of the bathrooms, cleaning out the fridge, picking up here and there, making a few dehydrator goodies and talking to people as I worked using my headphones. Wow, if I had a few days like that every week my house would be spotless at all times! :D Eating nice and light made me feel like I was walking on air all day!
