i'm not sure exactly how much greens i should be getting each day. i want to especially make sure i am getting plenty of calcium-rich greens like kale, but i'm not positive on how much i should put in my gs's. if you have any suggestions or advice on this, let me know.
p.s. please put amounts in terms of cups or the # of leaves of whatever green!! thanks! :D

1-2 pounds per day, depending on your metabolism/how much you like your greens, is what I have heard many long-term raw foodists suggest. I know that when I consistently get 2 pounds of greens per day in, I feel great, but sometimes I eat less than 2 pounds/day.
Green powders can contribute to your daily green intake, but fresh greens are essential.

How about green juices?

YES! If you have a vitamix or a quality juicer, green juices are supreme. You can easily drink a pound of greens in 15 minutes.

For health reasons I prefer my greens in green smoothies (or sometimes juices), for absorption. But I end up eating most of my greens in big salads.
I don't really know how much greens I get, but it's probably about 1-2 bunches a day. I find that my greens intake increases gradually over time, I really crave greens, especially if I haven't had enough.
I honestly just listen to my body and eat as much as it wants/can handle.

I don't know about pounds or cups. But I can tell you what I ordered this week, which is about the same as every week:
2 bunches lacinato kale
1 bunch arugula
1 head romaine
1 bunch curly green kale
1 bunch rainbow chard
1 head green leaf lettuce
And that was just the leafy greens. Other greens include broccoli, snow peas, celery, green onions, and cucumber.
I'll share some with my family, but I will probably eat 90% of it.
Also, I like to use 1-2 T. of green food powders in my smoothie.

I DONT eat enough. I would say I eat 1-4 pounds of food a day, veggies making up 5-10% of it ):

In Victoria Boutenko's "Green for Life" book, she recommends two bunches. I take it to mean to grocery store bundles.

Not really sure - but I do fill up two-thirds of my old Osterizer blender with packed greens for my smoothie, plus I do have another meal with salad greens. Just curious, how many cups of greens does it take to make a whole pound of greens? Somewhere I thought I saw 12 cups = 1 lb. That seems like a lot of cups to equal just one pound though.

i'm going to order some kale on monday. i think i'll order the smallest amount i can (12 bunches), and try my best to eat one bunch per day. also, i'll alternate spinach and romaine on some days for variety...does anyone have any suggestions on other greens to eat for optimum health? :)
